DCC Secrets of the World Harvester Kickstarter Now Live!

The march—and March—of DCC third-party Kickstarters continues! This week another new one joined the fray, bringing a sci-fi adventure to your favorite fantasy game. Secrets of the World Harvesters is a standalone, level 1 DCC-compatible adventure and setting guide from Purple Pirate Games that blends fantasy and science fiction as the players unravel the mysteries of their planet’s past.

The adventure leads the players to an ancient ruin unearthed by receding glaciers as the planet thaws from a millennia-long ice age. Beneath the ruins, an even older piece to the puzzle of their forgotten past awaits discovery.

Here’s what the Kickstarter says is inside Secrets of the World Harvesters:

  • 60 saddle-stitch pages on 8 ½ x 11 premium silk paper.
  • Glossy coated color cover.
  • 45 pieces of original art, including 6 full-page pieces plus numerous nearly-full page pieces, and 9 hand-drawn maps.
  • A 10-page patron write up of Takisaka, the Mother of Serpents, by Daniel J. Bishop (prolific RPG author for DCC) including a full page illustration, 3 new spells, Invoke Patron table, Patron Taint table, and a Shedding Your Skin random table (a situation that happens to followers of the deity).

And Secrets of the World Harvesters is just the latest DCC related Kickstarter out there! Listed below are others that are all currently running. They are ordered from the newest one at the top, to the one that is ending soonest at the bottom—some of which end in a matter of hours! So be sure to check them out while you still can!

Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad

Back after a four-year hiatus, Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad reunites the original creators to bring you all-new mayhem!

The original band returns as Wayne Snyder, Edgar Johnson, and Adam Muszkiewicz bring your three new issues of this classic zine. The Avenue of One Thousand Gods will welcome many new visitors this outing, no doubt.

Enter Ur-Hadad, the First City of Ore, and discover its secrets!

For Glory #1: The Hexanomicon

Creator Ariel Churi has done something a little different with  For Glory #1: The Hexanomicon. Unlike most zines, this one presents a set of tools that allows the Judge to create a setting from a blank map and a series of stickers that create the world around them.

And it’s not just a basic map, either. Each section has an alignment, and that alignment can change. The party may bring the light of justice to an area. I usually decide the hex alignment myself but it may be determined randomly. There are rules for determining the hex alignment based on luck or you can also determine the landscape randomly.

Terror of the Stratosfiend

This out of the world new zine by Orbital Intelligence brings the idea of alien invasion down to earth. Portals opening around the world are seeing the otherworldly appear, and what’s more, revealing some humans as a little more than just your neighbor.

Terror of the Stratosfiend is meant to be both an add-on to any Dungeon Crawl Classics session the Judge and players would be running—adding a splash of tentacles. It’s also being built to be a standalone setting where tentacles and sorcery would be the focus. So if you are wanting to add in a touch of the otherworldly, this is a great Kickstarter to support.

DCC RPG Module: Reckoning of the Gods / Into the Shadow Realm

Studio 9 Games is back with another fantastic looking adventure module. Reckoning of the Gods / Into the Shadow Realm is from the same folks who brought you Greenwood of the Fey Sovereign, and it looks to have the same high-quality focus as their first adventure.

Reckoning of the Gods / Into the Shadow Realm  is a 32-page stand-alone book built for Dungeon Crawl Classics , and is not just AN adventure. This book features a pair of adventures that overlap and create two distinct environments. The adventures are fashioned for 6-8 characters averaging 3rd level. There are a few deadly encounters which have to be navigated creatively, while groups purely interested in swordplay will find themselves creating new characters in short order.

Ghostlike Crime

ENDING SOON! Ghostlike Crime is a tabletop role-playing game zine bringing magical realism, the paranormal, and cryptid terrors to a modern day dystopia using Dungeon Crawl Classics rules. The adventurers are monster hunters and defenders of humanity from paranormal threats. They are not a part of any government program, but an autonomous and clandestine group that also works to keep power out of the hands of oppressors.
