The first time that Goodman Games issued a softcover copy of the DCC rules it served as a stop-gap between the 3rd and 4th printings of the book. This time, it’s going to be a part of the regular line-up.
In July, the Dungeon Crawl Classics Softcover Edition will return online and to stores everywhere. While technically, this is the 5th printing of the DCC rules, there are virtually no changes between it and the 4th printing—or the first printing, for that matter–the only corrections done to the book since its release have been typographical errors. Meaning there are no new material for anyone fearing they need to purchase the book. Unless you are a collector, in which case you’ll be excited about picking it up.
The softcover is an excellent way to get fans into the world of DCC, coming in at the low price of only $24.99. And even though it’s “just a softcover” the Smythe-sewn is so durable that many players have come to rely on it as their go-to edition. Popular demand has moved us to produce a new distribution version of the DCC Softcover to get it back in stores. Though, if you missed the previous softcover, there are still a small number remaining in our online store, both in the standard “blue” cover and the wizard cover. Once those versions are gone, they’re gone.
