We’ve just got a report from Brad Littman straight from the gaming trenches of Strategicon: Gateway 2023!:
I think everyone in Los Angeles was looking forward to playing some games. Especially after that tropical storm, the little earthquake and the heat. Quite a few games of DCC, MCC, and Weird Frontiers were played at Gateway 2023. It was nice to see some of the familiar faces and meet some of the newcomers to the world of DCC. One of the things I love about DCC is all the third party stuff we have, and this time around I featured a lot of that stuff at the booth.
Weird Frontiers was a big hit at this con. I was particularly impressed with one judge who made his own terrain and character sheets for Weird Frontiers. They were quite impressive. Apparently a young kid playing in a game of Weird Frontiers was overheard saying something along the lines of: “Never attack something with more tentacles than you have holes.” Words of Wisdom.
