The Gen Con Cometh!
Gen Con is right around the corner, and we can’t wait to show you all the cool stuff we have planned. So, over the next several days, we’ll be giving you a sneak-peek at the things to come! Let’s start with reminders on a couple of fun events.
Here’s the most important date and time to remember: Sunday, 2:00 PM, room ICC 127-128. A lot will happen at that time—all of it in front of the Gong of Doom in our game room!
But let’s jump back a couple of days, right to the start of Gen Con 2019. Every year we attach a plaque to the Gong of Doom with the names of the winners of the previous years’ tournament. Before the con opens, we will have upgraded the Gong of Doom with plaques for the names of the Gen Con 2018 and Origins 2019 winners! Stop by to see the Gong of Doom and the new winners’ plaques, which will be on display right where all of the fun is happening on Sunday! And speaking of Sunday….
First, we’ll have our 2nd annual awards ceremony, where we honor the judges and authors that make Gen Con so special for our fans. Someone nicknamed these the “Goodies” and it seems to have stuck! You can see the 2018 winners here in all their glory. The 2019 Goodie Awards will bring an all-new excitement to the show. Who will win the Gold this year?
Second—same time, same place, right after the Goodies—we’ll have our raffle! We’ve already mentioned this in a previous post, but to repeat ourselves: The 2019 Goodman Games raffle will happen in front of the Doom Gong (NOT at the booth) on Sunday at 2:00 PM in room ICC 127-128!
You’ll receive a raffle ticket if you make a purchase at our booth or play in any official Goodman Games event. On Sunday we raffle off amazing prizes—including leatherbound books, original art, and invisible servants! This year, the raffle will NOT be held at our booth—it will instead be in room ICC 127-128 right in front of the Doom Gong! The raffle will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM, and you must be present to win!
Third, it will be time to announce the winners of The 2019 Gen Con DCC RPG Team Tournament: The Greatest Thieves in Lankhmar! This year’s winners will win an amazing prize: an actual set of authentic thieves’ tools! That’s right, you not only get to brag about being the Greatest Thief, but you’ll also have the gear to show off those skills! Check out the amazing prize, pictured below!
