This Free RPG Day, The Sanctum is making its own contribution to the 50th Anniversary festivities by having a good old fashioned tournament. We’ll be running Goodman Games’ Crypt of the Devil Lich, a punishing 15th level dungeon translated into 5e from the original, which appeared at the 2004 First Annual Dungeon Crawl Classics Team Tournament.
Long ago, the drow sorceress Chalychia rode forth with near unstoppable magic and conquered the elven city of Arovarel. Her malevolent rule was cut short by a band of heroes, but she narrowly escaped destruction by embracing the power of undeath.
Now, prophets whisper and shadows stir, and it seems Chalychia’s evil is awakening once more. New heroes must enter her crypt and put an end to her once and for all. Can you stop Chalychia before she grows to her full power as the Devil Lich?
Date: Saturday, June 22nd
Time: 1 – 5 pm
Cost: This event is free, in celebration of FREE RPG Day! However, players MUST register in advance to participate, registration will close on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Details: Players will be grouped in teams of 5 and can sign up as a team or individually. The dungeon crawl will begin at 1 pm (arrive early to be ready to begin promptly) and is a timed event for 4 hours. The tournament will be scored on a party, not individual, basis using the same tournament score sheet.

Are you looking for a team? Feel free to visit The Sanctum’s “Looking for Group” Discord channel to find group members, and choose a Team Leader to register! Don’t forget to enter everyone’s name when registering!
Want to register fewer than 5 players? Register individually by selecting “Individual” from our dropdown, set the quantity to equal the number of players. Individuals will be grouped into teams in order of registration. Please enter everyone’s name to fully register!
Teams of five will be given access to the 12 available pregenerated characters (individuals signing up will be sent the sheets when their group of five has filled up). On game day, each player will pick one of the pregens to play in the tournament.
Though the tournament is a competition, The Sanctum would like to remind prospective players that the primary goal of the event is to have fun. Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated.
