Gen Con 2023 will be here before you know it! With Event Registration opening later this month it’s time to start thinking about signing up for all those unmissable events and games that make Gen Con gaming so unforgettable — like our competitive DCC Dying Earth Team Tournament, Arch-Daihaks of Dying Earth!
This year our DCC Team Tournament will be set in Jack Vance’s ancient future world of the Dying Earth; a whole new world of gaming for Dungeon Crawl Classics featuring new classes, spells, patrons, even a new mechanic in the form of Grudges. Our newly-released DCC Dying Earth Boxed Set has everything in it a group needs to transport their DCC games into the weird far-future of the 21st Aeon — and with 9 new modules already in the DCC Dying Earth line, you won’t run out of adventures any time soon!
Round One of the tournament will be held in four different slots this year:
- Thursday, August 3rd, 9:00 am EST
- Thursday, August 3rd, 2:00 pm EST
- Friday, August 4th, 2:00 pm EST
- Friday, August 4th, 7:00 pm EST
Then, all of those teams that advance to the final will be playing on Saturday, August 5th at 2:00 pm EST.
This year’s event is Arch-Daihaks of Dying Earth:
The final days of Dying Earth are at hand. You and your companions are a cabal, desperately seeking to escape your fate. But you are not alone: scores of other magicians vie for mastery, dominance, and ascension to Arch-Daihaks, like unto gods! This year’s tournament hosts multiple flights designed for teams of five level 5 PCs. The winning teams from each flight advances to the final round. Do you have guile, the brawn, and the arcane mastery to become the arch-gods of Dying Earth?
As we get closer to Gen Con, we will be sharing more of our DCC Dying Earth tournament details such as Player Packs and pregen characters, so watch this space for more info — and, in the meantime, start memorizing those spells!
