Whether they are devoted specifically to the game or are a part of the inspirations that are behind the creation of DCC, these podcasts share some great material that can help to inspire your game.

Spellburn
The grand-daddy of DCC RPG podcasts is still alive and going strong with 110 episodes! But don’t be daunted as a first time listener, we’ve got a Top 10 Spellburn Episodes list from the creators themselves to give you a good idea where to start. So for all the latest on the game and much more, be sure to join Judges Jen, Julian, Jarrett, and Jeff as they talk about all things Dungeon Crawl Classics! And check out their Dungeon Denizens section for some fresh DCC beasties to spice up your gaming!
Appendix N Book Club
Most folks are aware of the connection between DCC RPG and the fabled Appendix N (if not, you can read all about it), so our fondness for this podcast should come as no surprise. As they describe it on their website, The Appendix N Book Club “outlines the authors and works of fiction that the creators of Dungeons & Dragons encouraged us to read for inspiration.”
Sanctum Secorum
If exploring the rich history of Appendix N with a decidedly DCC RPG spin is your thing, then step into Sanctum Secorum. From their website: “The Sanctum Secorum podcast plumbs the depths of Appendix N as it applies to DCC RPG. Each show reviews one piece of Appendix N media — be it literature or film — and then discusses how to bring aspects of it to the table for your DCC game.” The Sanctum takes things even further by offering a wealth of downloadable supplementary material for each podcast including new monsters, items, NPCs, spells, patrons, classes, backgrounds — even whole adventures, all adapted from the classic works of fantasy that inspired RPG gaming itself.
Glowburn
Moving things away from DCC RPG for a moment, let’s look in on the world of Mutant Crawl Classics. The Glowburn podcast is the sister-cousin of Spellburn, focusing on the world of MCC RPG. They’ve been cranking out monthly episodes for a while now, and Glowburn is a great place for fans of MCC RPG to get some inspiration for your game.
Order of Shana
The Order of Shana podcast is something special. With the sub-title of “Women of DCC” you immediately get a feel for exactly what to expect from it, but it’s so much more. Their most recent episode came out this past November and focuses on Purple Duck Games, but every episode is a great listen!
Mighty Deeds
Kick it old school with the adventure-minded folks from The Murfreesboro Murder Hobo Old-School Gaming Association as they explore the worlds of DCC and others. Mighty Deeds is a podcast of high adventure. If you Like Dungeons and Dragons, Dungeon Crawl Classics, or any other brand of Fantasy Adventure Actual Play podcasts, please give Mighty Deeds a try. Fresh from wrapping up an epic journey through the Stonehell Megadungeon, Mighty Deeds has kicked off their second season with Advent of the Avalanche Lords.
The Vintage RPG Podcast
Vintage RPG is an exploration of the world of tabletop roleplaying games – new and old, familiar and strange. Every Monday they present a new podcast about the art and history of classic RPGs, as well as reviews and recaps of some new material that some consider classic. Including a recent look at DCC RPG!
Cantrips and Coffee
A podcast for all things tabletop RPG and . . . coffee. Here we’ve linked to their Dungeon Crawl Classics: Actual Play episode, described thusly: Deadly traps, grueling combat, custom dice, and a tiny cow? Dungeon Crawl Classics doesn’t mess around, and the C&C crew may have bitten off more than we can chew in this Appendix N inspired fantasy Tabletop RPG. Listen as poor townsfolk venture forth to find their fortune, only to be met with horrific (and vaguely comedic) death.
3T RPG Podcast
The 3T RPG Podcast covers RPG products so weird and gross that no one else wants to. They do in-depth reviews of RPG products, discussions, competitions, play reports, listener questions, and cinematic actual plays, of which many are run using DCC RPG! Give them a listen!
Black Ink Red Film
Here’s a bonus podcast for you! While it’s not directly about DCC RPG, Black Ink Red Film is a podcast hosted by Stephen Newton that talks about classic horror and science-fiction and how they evolved from print novels to the big screen. It contains some great info that might help you bring aspects of your favorite books into your campaign.
Rogues in the House
Another bonus podcast! Rogues in the House is a podcast for all fans of Sword and Sorcery. It looks at it’s roots, the creators behind it, the present, and the future of the genre. It’s an encompassing, loving look at Sword and Sorcery that helps to bring it to life for fans and newcomers alike!
