Last Chance to Support The Brimstone Cradle & The Hills That Hunger Kickstarter

T’was the night before Christmas, and while you may not have a warm roof over your heads, you have merriment in your hearts. Too far to make it to town before the sun fell, you made camp and caroled while fixing a warm supper over the campfire. But a few meager hours past midnight and into an early Christmas morning, the snow began to fall hard. The snowstorm put out the campfire and threatened to collapse your tents. Y’all broke camp and started moving again, hoping to make it to the town of Red Clover before frostbite blackened your toes like little lumps of coal.

On the road again, the cold bites at your bones as frozen trees shake in the wind and drop clumps of snow all about you. Nary any shelter to be found, until the smell of smoke draws your attention to a cabin up top a distant hill. Right as hope was found in the midst of an ongoing blizzard, the frosty wind carries a shrill, pained scream that pierces the night, and the scream is coming from that lonely little lodge…

Something strange is happening in the night—and that’s a good thing. It’s time for adventure!

The Brimstone Cradle & The Hills That Hunger are two new adventures for Weird Frontiers RPG from creator Stefan Surratt. These hair-raising tales can be run separately or linked together for a campaign. And with the included conversion guide, these adventures can also be played in any standard Dungeon Crawl Classics game.

Here’s the description from the Kickstarter:

The Brimstone Cradle is a level 2 adventure wherein a blizzard rages in the early hours of Christmas morning and the PCs end up finding a newborn child who needs protection from menacing demons until dawn. It takes some inspiration from films such as 3 Godfathers (1948), Drag Me to Hell (2009), and Evil Dead (1981).

The Hills That Hunger is a versatile module that can be played as either a 0-level funnel or a 1st level adventure. The PCs are called upon to rescue the survivors of a wagon caravan which is suspected to having been burned to the ground by a group of cannibalistic hillbillies. It takes its inspiration from The Hills Have Eyes (1977), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), and Cormac McCarthy’s The Road.

This Kickstarter ends tonight! So head on over to their Kickstarter and show some love today! The campaign is already funded, and has already hit several stretch goals—and there are still some within range! Support them today…because tomorrow, you won’t be able to!
