The Axe from the Stone is a six-stringed musical relic designed by the gods of a kind of music that never was, or is perhaps yet to be. This legendary instrument is rumored to protrude from a rock in an uncharted location, the finding of which would be the subject of a monumental quest. Realised in various kinds of exotic wood, the artifact looks both ancient and modern. Its finish—a red cross on white and blue—appears battered and worn, yet feels somehow futuristic. Legend has it that the artifact can only be drawn from the stone by a mortal with a rebel’s heart.
