Issue Five of Tales From the Magicians Skull Out Now

Look upon the perfection of the Skull ye mortals and rejoice! That’s right, after a perilous journey through the wilds of publishing, the fifth jam-packed issue of Tales From the Magician’s Skull has been released upon the world. This time around we have six tales of peril, weirdness, grim death, and wild magic from Adrian Cole, James Enge, John C. Hocking, Violette Malan, Adrian Simmons, and C.L. Werner.

We’ve also got a great article on the fiction of pulp great Harold Lamb, from one of Lamb’s foremost experts—who just so happens to be the editor of Tales From the Magician’s Skull, our very own Howard Andrew Jones.

To top it all off issue five continues the tradition of translating gear, monsters, and places featured in each issue’s fiction into Dungeon Crawl Classics stats, courtesy of Terry Olson. And of course no issue of the Skull is complete without the great, expressive art that is part-and-parcel of sword-and-sorcery. From the amazing cover by Sanjulian, to the interior black and white scene-setters from Chris Arneson, Randy Broeker, Samuael Dillon, Jennell Jaquays, Doug Kovacs, Peter Mullen, and Russ Nicholson, every issue of Tales From the Magician’s Skull is a visual feast for eyeball and eye socket alike.

So, that’s eighty textured pages evoking that old pulp feel, but with that new pulp smell we’ve all come to love. Check out issue five or (as the Skull so fervently commands) just go ahead and grab a subscription and discover just what makes Tales From the Magician’s Skull the premier source for original sword-and-sorcery.
