GAMA Trade Show Report - "DCC World," the DCC-CD,

Post by goodmangames »

Well, I'm back from the GAMA Trade Show with lots of cool announcements. You can see the Xcrawl announcement on our front page -- long story short, Goodman Games will be handling Xcrawl, with new releases starting in August. I've been a longtime fan of both the game and the creator (Brendan LaSalle, author of DCC #10: The Sunless Garden and another upcoming DCC), and I'm really looking forward to it.

There are a couple big announcements for DCC fans. First and foremost, "DCC World!" That's the code name for our big, fat boxed campaign setting. It does exactly what you've always wanted: place every single DCC adventure on one huge world map in a single cohesive setting. The DCC's will remain world-neutral, but should you choose you can tie them together with this setting. The authors -- Harley Stroh, Jeff LaSala, and Mike Ferguson -- are all on these boards and can field questions as we get closer to release.

Another biggie is our cooperation with Midnight Syndicate on DCC #34: Cage of Delirium. Slated for August release, this adventure by Wes Schneider (of DragonMech and DCC #12: Blackguard's Revenge fame) is tied to the Midnight Syndicate CD "Gates of Delirium," which will be packaged with the module. Each encounter area is cued to a specific track on the CD, so when you enter a room the adventure will read (for example) "cue track 6 then read or paraphrase the following." It's a great play experience and a ton of fun.

There are probably some other things I'm forgetting but hey, I've been sleep-deprived for a week so this is all I have to say for now! I hope you guys are as excited as I am about these announcements.

Thanks, Joseph, for making the announcement!

Incidentally, it would seem a discussion has started here with some helpful information from Harley Stroh:
