Can people who have the GenCon 2015 book or have play tested MCC let us know about what classes are available in MCC and any interesting information about class abilities?
I know any information at this stage is "in development" but I'm interested to see what, if any, parallels can be drawn between DCC classes and MCC's.
Thanks

I do not have my book handy. I remember the shaman. And that I really wanted the game. I will post more later.Miker601 wrote:Can people who have the GenCon 2015 book or have play tested MCC let us know about what classes are available in MCC and any interesting information about class abilities?

Re: Mutant Crawl Classics Classes?
The preview in the Gen Con Program Guide included only two of the classes: the Shaman and the Mutant. It mentions that for Mutants, Plantients, and Manimals their genotype is their class, so these would be comparable to demihumans race as class in standard DCC, I suppose. The Shaman is a pure human class that specializes in ancient knowledge and gets powers from an AI patron, so probably most closely resembles the DCC wizard.

Re: Mutant Crawl Classics Classes?
Interesting. So it sounds like we can confirm the following 4 classes so far (subject to change):
"Mutant Genotype Classes":
-Mutants (mutant humans)
-Manimals (mutant animals)
-Plantients (mutant plants)
"Pure Human Classes":
-Shaman (Pure human: ancient knowledge/uses Patrons)
I'm guessing one of the design goals for the various Mutant classes will be for them to all "feel" and play differently (beyond just having access to a different mutation list).
I would conjecture other possible classes as:
-Robots (plus androids and other permutations of the Robot theme)
other Pure Humans like:
-a thief analogue class with a sci-fantasy bent; "Scavenger" who specializes in sneaking into the ruins of the past and screwing around with ancient tech
-a warrior/barbarian type "Tribesman" with access to Mighty Deeds who has little use for mutations or ancient tech
-a scientist class focused on using ancient tech (could be the healer class)
I wonder if a MCC class will be a "luck battery" a la the halfing.
Anyway, just some random musings as I eagerly await MCC...

One can easily imagine a "psychic probability manipulation" mutation. Two, even.Miker601 wrote:...I wonder if a MCC class will be a "luck battery" a la the halfing...

I think the Plantients have some luck battery aspects to them.Miker601 wrote:I wonder if a MCC class will be a "luck battery" a la the halfing.

What is the rule of the Plantients on this kind of classes? What are its contributions to the site?JonHook wrote:I think the Plantients have some luck battery aspects to them.Miker601 wrote:I wonder if a MCC class will be a "luck battery" a la the halfing.
