Question about DCC#42 (Stonearm)...

I really liked the story about the Seven Prism Lords and their ancient foe - and I'm considering to build it somehow into the main plot of my campaign.

Question:
Were the 7 and their archenemy invented just for this module, or is there any other official information on them in some DCCs (published or upcoming)???

Are the abilities granted by the crystal hand spell-like abilities? And is the caster level the same as the character level?

Hi!

Sorry it took a while to get to this thread; I was traveling around Europe for two weeks. (It was awesome.)

I'm glad you like the adventure! In answer to your questions:

1) I invented the prism lord mythos specifically for this adventure. There's no more information about them out there... yet.

2) The crystal hand allows you to cast spells, just like other magic items that allow you to cast spells. The caster level is the same as the magic item caster level -- 17 -- though a GM could rightfully nerf the item by reducing the caster level to the user's character level.

I had a chance to run "Secret of the Stonearm" over the past couple of weeks, and was really impressed with it. It was exactly what I was looking for - short, sweet, highly entertaining, full of both combat and roleplaying opportunities, and loaded with lots of ideas for a campaign or for further adventures (like the prism lord mythos). If you're looking for a low-level campaign starter, "Stonearm" is a great choice.

Luke - congrats on creating this bad boy. As far as I'm concerned, you hit it out of the park. :)

yep: DCC#42 ist full of awesome - and since my group soon may include up to 7 players & since I've already started my own metaplot that includes certain ancient unspeakable horrors from beyond, I'll probably use the myth of the 7 and expand upon the legend of their ancient foe...

Question: is WFF #1 set in the Known Realms, i.e. Áereth?

No, the WFF line is separate from the DCC line so there's no attempt to tie the worlds together. That said, the WFF module is world-neutral like the DCC's -- all the action takes place in a wizard's tower and the necessary world background to make it all make sense is minimal -- so you could slot it into any existing world.
