Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
Squire Jon notices that his pitchfork isn't working that great so he tries to swing it like a bat at the skeleton. Ragged Rob throws another sling stone.

Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
Honest John and Red Robert take down another two of the warriors!
Squire Jon and Ragged Rob miss...
Unfortunately, Squire John is thrown off balance by the bat-like swing of his pitchfork and falls to his hands and knees. Before he can recover, a jagged bronze sword beheads him, blood spurting onto the flagstones... CRITICAL HIT!
fireinthedust, any actions this round?

Ok, I send a message a few days ago to fireinthedust who didn't respond so he appears to be out of the loop for the moment. He's welcome to reengage when he has the time/interest, but in order to keep things moving forward, I suggest that each of you should take over a couple of his characters for now.

Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
Feeling uncharacteristically heroic, Marvin charges into battle against the skeleton, swinging with his longsword and connecting with a satisfying crunch. Joseph glances at Jenkins' muscles and then holds out his staff. "I think you might be better with this than me," he mutters.
Jenkins grabs the staff and follows Marvin into the fray. He swings the weapon mightily, missing and spinning around in a circle only narrowly averting a fall.
"I meant to do that," Jenkins says. "I am a jester!"

What you roll on the fumble table depends on what kind of armor you are wearing.doddwaco wrote:[Jenkins-to hit: 1(fumble! what do I roll?)]
No armor, roll a 1d4 + reverse luck modifier (lower is better).

OOC: In that case let's see what Xim and the Copromancer can do. Xim launches a sweep attack with his staff, to hit 12, damage 2. The Copromancer stabs wildly at the remaining skeleton but misses. To hit 4. Red Robert will also fires an arrow, to hit 10, damage 3

Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
The last skeleton is bashed aside by Xim's staff, and Red Robert's arrow enters its open mouth.
It crumples to the floor, dropping its bronze sword.
As you all struggle to catch your breath, you look around this very large room (about 25' x 30'). It is lined with simple murals that depict men dressed in ancient armor, locked in combat with demonic creatures. One larger piece shows a golden-headed man with armor and a spear, fighting what appears to be a demon lord.
There are two exits; one to the right of the one that you came into on the west wall, the other on the northernmost wall.

Ragged Rob kneels next to Squire Jon's decapitated corpse and bows his head. He sits silent for a moment, and then begins rifling through the body's pockets. He retrieves Jon's dagger, chalk, fine cloak, his pitchfork, and a few coins. As he tucks these away, he turns to the others.

OOC: Didn't we establish that these skeletons were wielding swords? Swords good enough to decapitate? Xim and the Copromancer have pretty weak weapons. I'd like to upgrade their gear if possible.

Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
OOC: I was waiting for that. Feel free! There are five ancient, curved, bronze swords lying on the floor (1d6 dmg). I don't do encumbrance, but each character can carry one large weapon (sword, mace, etc.) and one small weapon (dagger, club, etc.). So if you take a sword, you need to drop your pitchfork, shovel, etc.Max_The_Judge wrote:OOC: Didn't we establish that these skeletons were wielding swords? Swords good enough to decapitate? Jenkins the Jester, Marvin the tax collector and Joe the herder will take the remaining swords.

To be clear, now that you're in the room, the exit on the West wall looks more like a small side room, not a corridor (like the one to the North).
