IC: Umm if by sins, you mean getting stabbed by those bugs, then yeah I'm sorry that happened.

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS
Sufferus stands before the thief with his wiry arms outstretched, eyes closed.IC: Umm if by sins, you mean getting stabbed by those bugs, then yeah I'm sorry that happened.
"This is all the humility you are capable of summoning? You are truly lost, then! Your sins have nothing to do with the wounds you have suffered. Those are the result of what you have done. Any wound you suffer while in this mortal form, is a consequence of your past sins - and some say, of those to come. The Maimed One will show you the One True Way, that of atonement for all sins through pain and sufferance. Only by being one with one's sins can one hope to avoid eternal pain in the afterlife. I will allow you to feel the pain of the Maimed one now, to show you the Path of Light, and to show you humility, how your flesh can be opened and closed at the Maimed One's simple desire. How you are but transitory material, nothingness in the world."
Heal check: 1d20 + 5 = 17
Healing received (adjacent alignment): 2 hit dice = 2d6 = 10 HPs
Sufferus puts both hands on Fred's head then, and the thief feels wracking jolts of pain as the Maimed One closes wounds by ripping the soul to patch the flesh. Ugly black scars remain where healing was received.
Sufferus inspects the thief to see whether more healing would be required.
(OOC: if everyone agrees, you guys can perhaps tell me how many what your current/max hit points are when you ask for healing, it's a bit of meta but it would help avoid back-and-forth exchanges that can take days to resolve. Sufferus will decice whether he heals you more than once - if for example you're 2 HPs from your max after one healing, he'll probably not chance disapproval for a mere flesh wound. However if he heals you for, say, 5 hit points and you're still 20 from your max, then he'll probably continue praying the Maimed One for more.
p.s.: glad that Sufferus successfully rolled his heal check after having done all that trash talking

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS
Maledict, who doens't even know what keeping a grudge means, offers an apple to Yoros, and then takes one himself, and seems to take sudden interest in a place that is neither here nor now. He zones out as he eats his apple.
Sufferus, meanwhile, frowns as he looks about. He inspects the circle drawn on the ground to see if he can determine the type of magic that it might be, as he sees Yoros stepping out of it.
"You there", he says to Maledict, "tell me what you know".
Maledict replies, still looking at some faraway place:
"Morgil the Moon-Sage
My patronage craved
And by his desire
Was he enslaved.
Though his love killed him
Gather him, and then
Take him below –
He shall live again."
Sufferus inspects the elven body thoroughly. He searches his garments, and tries to see if there's anything that initially wasn't obvious about the wounds.

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS
Looking through the telescope, Yoros sees the moon. It is much closer than one would expect - Yoros' eye appears to be about 500 yards above the bluish-white furze on the surface. He sees a creature eating the strange plants - an enormous thing like a blue-grey caterpillar. Then he notices the creatures around it - herding it with steel ankhs. They seem to be the same creatures as those who attacked you in this room, and in scale the caterpillar-thing he sees must be 70 to 90 feet long.
The dead elf has a large tattoo, like a mass of shadowy tentacles, over the left side of his face, making the pale right side appear almost like a crescent moon. The wounds seem to be large puncture wounds. Apart from his robes and slippers, he wears only undergarments.
The circle appears to be a ward of some sort.

Yoros crunches the apple, and keeps peering through the telescope, absent-mindedly, "...if the light comes from there to here through this... can those creatures do the same as the light...?" He examines the exterior of the telescope, looking for 'filters' that might slide into place over either the large or small lenses.

Sufferus smells the ground, like a dog looking for something. Walking and both hands and feet, he moves about the room, sniffing, looking under the control boxes, under the telescope, stopping to smell Yoros' feet.
He then moves to the bodies of the creatures that attacked his companions. He pulls one of the bodies towards the body of the dead elf (or the opposite, if the insectoid body is too heavy), and then tries to put the mandibles or pincers of the creatures into the wounds of the elf, to see if those are indeed what killed him. He seems to take some pleasure at imagining the pain caused by the attacks.

Something smells vaguely foul from below, the scent arising from a trapdoor in the floor.
The wounds on the elf seem to match the steel ankuses carried by the insect-men, who are surprisingly light.

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS
Sufferus tries to recreate the exact strokes that would have caused the wounds, placing the weapons in the wounds, his face an expression of lust as he does.
Maledict snaps out of his daydreaming. "So, shall we?" he walks towards the trapdoor and waits for the others to say they're ready before opening.
"Beware, there is something foul below", says Sufferus.
Maledict draws his two-handed sword.
Maledict snaps out of his daydreaming. "So, shall we?" he walks towards the trapdoor and waits for the others to say they're ready before opening.

Sufferus brings the body of the dead elf along. Unless otherwise noted, he'll pull the body, sliging him along the floor, holding him by one foot as he pulls. He'll drop the foot to act whenever there is trouble, whenever searching, or doing something requiring his attention (searching a room, etc...) Between areas he'll pull the body along.

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS
Wait a minute. Let me check the door to ensure it's safe.. it is a trap door after all.
OOC: detect trap roll of 17+7=24.
I want to spend luck to ensure that IF there is a trap, I can, hopefully diarm it.
my luck die is d6, so I rolled and got a 6. {thieves get a die roll instead of +1 when a point is spent, right?}
if there is a trap, my disable roll is 7+7=14..+6=20.
If I don't detect a trap, I won't spend the luck point.
