Do Sailors on the Starless Sea and People of the Pit have some sort of interlinking storyline so that they can be played one after the other....starting with Sailors on the Starless Sea? Or are these two adventures separate and not intended for a continuous campaign setting in Areath?

Don't think so.

Also, I used People of the Pit with some 2nd/1st characters and it's quite a bit underpowered for that level (the octo-masses got to be really annoying and boring; I should have scaled things up but was lazy), so be warned if you have an experienced party going through it. I think it's meant more for 0/1st.

Im not personally aware of any modules for dcc alone that are meant to be tied together but that shouldnt prevent you the player from doing it anyways. Either some deep story to tie them or heck just rumors to draw the party in. Whatever works best for you when your DM'ing. The octomasses feel weak and silly to 1st level characters as well. Its thr big pit and the tentacle summoners that really provide the threat I think. The octomasses are really just fun appendix N flavor.

Agreed. At this time, DCC modules are designed to follow an "episodic" model rather than a "plot arc" model. I suppose that the rationalle would be that many of the Appendix N sources were full of short stories, so the DCC modules represent something like this.

I would like to see some sort of epic storyline developed through multiple modules, however, as long as potential buyers were made aware of the link.
