Virtuacon 2013 Online Convention

Post by Mario A »

Edit: With the influx of GMs over the weekend we have extended our deadline for new GMs to July 20th! As of this post we have 48 GMs running 66 confirmed tables with several more still deciding slots! That said, we could still use more GMs as tables are sure to fill up immediately!

Hi everyone. Honestly, I just popped in here to post about our online con after looking for Joseph Goodman so I can ask him if he would like to speak there. We currently have around 70 tables committed, but only 3 of them are DCC. If you GM online then YOU can change that! There are a few days left to register. Even 1 more DCC table would be great, wouldn't it? Also, keep a look out for player signups! Thanks for hearing me out, now I will leave you with this Virtuacon 2013 message...

Hello fellow RPG enthusiast! I would like to invite you to attend (or GM a game or two) at VirtuaCon 2013 - an online role-playing convention - running games for a full weekend (October 18th, 19th and 20th) with participants from around the world. This convention is being organized by members of RPGgeek.com, the world's largest database for information about Role-Playing Games and sister site to the well-known boardgamegeek.com. RPGG is one of the best places on the internet for all your role playing needs and wants, and is also a great forum community!

This event will be run via Roll20.net, a virtual tabletop, and Google Hangouts, which combined is very cool way to connect with other rpg enthusiasts, try out new games, or play some old favorites - with new or old friends who live nearby or on the other side of the planet. VirtuaCon 2013 uses these technologies to help you enjoy great role-playing games, right at your home: Come and join the fun! Play a game or volunteer to run a game for others!

We are still looking for gamemasters to join us, support their favorite games and spark the imagination of fellow players. About forty games are already scheduled, but we expect high interest and don't want to send interested gamers away. So get out the GM's guide for your favorite system and incite others! Have a game you always wanted to try but never got round to it? VirtuaCon is only a click away, waiting for you!

We will be offering tech support (live during the con) and help in any way we can. GM's will also be rewarded with a special microbadge to display with your avatar on RPGgeek.com - and of course you are entitled to bragging rights!

Just go to http://rpggeek.com/ and create a free account. Then head over to http://rpggeek.com/thread/999829/virtua ... call-fo... and post that you're willing to GM. All the details (timeslots, technical stuff) can be found on our promo page at http://rpggeek.com/wiki/page/Virtuacon13

We're looking forward to welcoming you on board for VirtuaCon - unofficially dubbed "The Best 3 Days in Virtual Gaming". Hope to see you there!

Pooped, or popped? One's a little harder to justify than the other.

Seriously, a virtual con sounds like a cool concept.

It would appear that I was posting so late that I may have done a little of each. Fixed it! Thank you! YEs, it will be quite awesome. We have over 70 tables of which 3 are DCC and about 20 are Pathfinder Society. We also have tables ranging from AD&D 1st edition, to FATE, to Japanese and French translations. There are confirmed industry speakers already, and we are looking for more. Yes, it will be fun!

So, we could use more GMs now, and keep an eye out for signups when they one, which are sure to fill up quickly.
