Hello folks!

I found out about DCC while browsing 'zines at the local infoshop. Came across the Crawl! zine being offered there, picked up a few copies, and much nostalgia was had! I've been looking for a copy of the core rules at the shops here locally, but more importantly than that, I need to find a game!

Is anyone here from the Portland area that's currently running a game and looking for new players? I used to play a lot of D&D many years ago, and have dabbled in d20 stuff recently, but DCC just has a feel that reminds me of all those recesses and lunchtimes spent in the school library delving the dungeons deep.

Looking forward to hearing from other PDX-area DCC folks!

I'm all the way up in Tacoma. I get to Portland every once in a while. I love Powel's bookstore.

Well what a coincidence. Fellow Portlander and I just recently stumbled on to DCC myself after a fairly long break from tabletop gaming (after getting burned out by 3.x and 4e). About a week ago I grabbed the pdf from DrivethruRPG.com, and after perusing it something just clicked and it prompted me to pick up the corebook from Amazon which should be here in about a week.

In any case I'm sort of in the same boat, needing a group to play this amazing game with. I had an old gaming group, but they seem pretty locked into the current incarnation of D&D and I don't think they have much interest in OSR style gaming ... in any case, I live in NE Portland and am primarily interested GMing, so if I could find enough people to play with I think it might be kind of nice to at least get a semi-monthly or weekly campaign going.

Personally, I used to DM a fair bit years ago using AD&D 1st ed. but I have no doubt that I'd be rusty if I got behind the screen again (at least at first), but I'm really eager to blow the dust off my old homebrew world (heavily influenced by Michael Moorcock and Robert Howard novels with a dash of Brythonic Celtic)

So not to get too far ahead of the game (no pun intended) it might be cool to get an idea of what you are looking for or if our interests/schedules are in-line.

PM me if you like, although I have notifications turned on for this thread.

Cheers!
