are there any rules or guideline to come up with starts what is the logic behind the monsters.

This may be of some help:

Expansion on save DCs: https://ravencrowking.blogspot.com/2019 ... ad-on.html

This product is about direct conversion, but I strongly recommend reading the listing before purchase: https://dcctreasures.blogspot.com/2021/ ... ntory.html

There are these, which I can say have been very popular...

And also, I have a creature coming up at some point on my blog which will give hints on how to create unlimited unique monsters just using the DCC Rulebook...

first I decide how many HD it has, then I decide if it uses natural-style attacks or weapons, etc. Then I decide if I can give it anything special that makes it cool.

Thanks @RavenCrowking & @GnomeBoy. Both y'all's resources are helping me build monsters for my campaign, and I really appreciate that they are free/pay-what-you-choose.

GnomeBoy, let me say I'm esp. grateful for the alien/construct sheet 'cause I'm running a SciFi campaign and my brain gets stuck a lot when I try to map fantasy monsters onto that SciFi space. PS -- awesome art on the Monster Extractor IV!!!!! so much personality. so cool.
