Spellcasting services

Post by qstor »

How do you handle this in your games? In know in 3.x there's a table with costs? Or do you tie it to quests or other services for the cleric or wizard?

For me, magic is not something that's traded on the Dow Jones. It's spooky and deadly and most people are afraid of it....

So IF the party is going to seek out a caster for some kind of aid, something that's beyond their own resources, that's a sub-plot or almost a side-campaign in itself to even find someone who can do it, and then convince them to do it.

But assuming that's all behind them, it'd basically be a barter situation. The party better have something -- item, skill, blood -- that that caster wants in order to get the magical aid they seek.
