Wizard: Heal-bot par excellence?

So, I just started running a DCC RPG game, and one of the PCs is playing a 1st level Wizard. I had her roll spells randomly, then rolled for Mercurial Magic the first time she cast each spell. One of these combinations has created a bit of a problem:
Detect Magic with Breath of Life.
Now, a 1 would still be bad, but that's still just a 5% chance, and healing 1d6 to the whole party kind of outweighs this.
Anyone have any ideas? How have other judges handled this?
Detect Magic with Breath of Life.
Since Detect Magic is a cleric spell, the Wizard takes a -2 to her spell check, but it doesn't say the spell is lost on a <12 roll. Which means she can just spam it to heal the party.Breath of life. Casting this spell imbues the caster and those around him with beneficial energies. All within
15’ of the caster (both friend and foe) are healed 1d6 points of damage for every level of the spell (i.e., a level
3 spell heals 3d6 damage).
Now, a 1 would still be bad, but that's still just a 5% chance, and healing 1d6 to the whole party kind of outweighs this.
