converting Qs from newbie

Hi all,
I was just wondering how easy/hard it is to convert other systems to DDC
I picked up a lot of 2nd hand 1st D&D B series, and was wondering if I can play them almost straight up, or should I just sub the monsters from the rulebook instead.
I was also looking at getting some LL and 3e as well.
Any ideas
Thanks

Conversion is easy. Mostly, you need to flip AC from descending systems and decide save values.

If you want, you can change the appearance of creatures. Use the tables in the book for humanoids and un-dead to make them different from what the module contains. Describing an otyugh as a conical creature 9 feet tall with three gelid tentacles, three red eyes, and a mouth at its apex doesn't change its stats (still only gets 2 tentacle attacks!) but it sure as heck creeps the players out more than a monster they recognize.

Watch the prevalence of treasure, especially magical treasure. I would automatically reduce all coins by one step, and then decide which magic items stay and which go. Instead of a magical dagger +1, why not a bejewelled dagger worth 25 gp?
