Just got my copy of the game...
Reading through the Check Penalty rules for armor on pg. 72 and I'm confused. I assumed the armor check penalties would apply to all non-combat physical actions where bulk would is an issue plus spellcasting for wizards and elves. But the text does the following:
1. Only refers to plate mail.
2. Only talks about warriors and thieves doing physical activities.
Any ideas on this? Is my interpretation correct?
Thanks.

Re: Check Penalty Text Confusing
It applies to physical activities, as well as wizard and elf spell checks. The warrior and thief examples are examples of the general rule; the general rule is not restricted to the examples.

It's mentioned in the wizard's and elf's weapon training that armor hinders their spellcasting - unlike for clerics, where it mentions they can cast spells in armor without penalty.
