Weapon Damage Ranges

There have been a large number of discussions based on HP's... armor damage reduction and balance for the game.

Weapons (at least from the play test) seem to be inline with the damage from the weapons in 3e. Not all were the same, but we can use that as a baseline for the purpose of this discussion.

What I would propose is the following:

Warriors get bonus damage to their weapons equal to their action die.

(i.e. 2nd level Warrior would roll d20+d4 to hit. That same d4 (if he hit) would get added to his d8 longsword damage)

I think that mechanic works really well as it equates out bonus damage for the fighter.

Should DCC include a mechanic where the BAB is added to all damage rolls? I think it should. That way a cleric becomes not only more proficient at striking their opponent, but also does more damage when he hits.

Assuming a 3e progression...

Is it a big deal? No. But it does show that everyone gets more skilled in using their weapons properly as they level up.
