I am preparing to read the DCC rulebook, and was wondering how reasonably 5e monsters convert to DCC? also, any tips on rule snags, and/or tips and tricks, or a link for where to find some.

I've never run 5e, and haven't picked up the MM for it yet, so I can't directly answer your question. But I think familiarity with DCC and 5e should make in fairly easy to convert things.
Are you expecting to run 5e adventures with DCC rules? Or are there just some 5e monsters that you love and want to port them over...?
