Halfling and Dwarf..classes
So, if I read the rules correctly halflings and dwarves can not become warriors/thieves/wizards/clerics? Halflings and Dwarves are there own 'special' race/class thingy?
I am a bit confused on it because in the book some of the pictures show halflings and dwarves as thieves and clerics. Or was that just the artist not reading the rules
Re: Halfling and Dwarf..classes
Dwarves are dwarves, halflings are halflings... similar to Moldvay B/X D&D. They get their own special advantages and disadvantages.

Yeah, artists tend to do their own thing. For example, one comic strip illo. in the book has a female half-orc with significant assets, but the book doesn't have rules for half-orcs.
As for race-as-class, it's like B/X/BECMI D&D as beermotor noted, and it also helps reinforce the fact that those races are absolutely not human and lack human versatility.

Thanks guys that is what I thought. I will be running my 1st DCC game in a few weeks . As of now I need to finish up the other games I am DMing... Pathfinder, D&D 1e, Call of Cthulhu and Hackmaster games. I will be encouraging my players to play all the classes/races in DCC. For they all look so fun. Really like the Neutral Clerics and their choice of a god...Cthulhu!Colin wrote:Yeah, artists tend to do their own thing.
