Interesting comparison between 1E and DCC, it did seem to me too that warriors were pretty awesome, essentially it seems to me that it is no more linear fighters/quadratic wizards but quadratic warriors/quadratic wizard! Now how the halfling and thief stand up compared to the other 5 will be interesting to see.
And, BTW, where on earth did you get the idea that 4E has 60 levels?
