A suggestion for another artist for DCC-RPG

Hi Mr. Goodman,

Have you given thought to see if Bob Pepper would be willing to illustrate some of the art work for the DCC-RPG?

Mr. Pepper is the artist behind the art of Milton Bradleys' Dark Tower game and Dragonmaster card game. Very evocative artist.

Just some grist for thought.

Take care.

Not too familar with those games, so I did some Google-fu.

Dare I say that this is (some wonderful) thinking outside the box...? Or is this more inside the box?

Bar none, Dark Tower is my all time favorite board game of all time. My eye's sweated this year when I got my game out of the basement to introduce it to my children, only to find the tower no longer works. :(

Doug K and I tried playing Dark Tower at GaryCon last year (sans the rule book, I think). We tried inferring the rules from the different sounds coming out of the board, but finally gave up and started drinking. I'd love to see a game played correctly. (I can still remember seeing the DT ads in the Sears holiday catalog.)

I have a friend who claims to have a copy in his closet, but I never bothered to have him track it down because it didn't sound very interesting.

Now I'm inspired to give it a shot, assuming his tower works and he has the rules.

Can anyone give a short synopsis of how to play?

Any time you're not sure what to do, take a shot.

The Flash version Harley pointed to is very close to the original, but it lacks the fun of playing with two to four friends. Pressing the keypad on the tower and waiting as the mechanism spins about to reveal what happened to you was always a blast!

But to get back on target, I would love to see his work grace the DCC-RPG. Don't ask me how to get a hold of Mr. Pepper, for I don't know.

Joesph,

I've made contact with Mr. Pepper! I really did not think I would be able to make contact with him. I was not sure I was going to be able to speak to the man when he picked up. I choked!

I will send you his phone number. He said he is willing to speak with you about doing some free lance work. I did not ask about prices or anything of that nature. That's your business not mine.

Looking forward to hearing what may come of this! :)

Here are some other examples of his work:

I had both Dark Tower and DragonMaster when I was a kid, and enjoyed them both quite a bit. It is some great art and I hope something comes of this!

Harley, I would love to play Dark Tower with you! Next time you find yourself in front of a working dark Tower game, CALL ME and I'll teach you the game over the phone!

I loved The Dark Tower when I was a kid. I remember being very sad when I found out that my dad had sold it at a garage sale. I saw the game at gencon 2005 but it was super expensive so I didn't get it. It was something crazy like $300.

How about Tony Millionaire?

He is definitely the right style, and he is actually pretty diverse in his subject matter. Plus, he does zany-bizarre-disgusting very well.

How about Tim Tyler? Found his art today on D&D's facebook page, but it seems the admins deleted his post and/or dude deleted his account. Luckily, with some googling, I found this:
http://www.drunkduck.com/Maidens_Monste ... k/5022993/

He seems to like drawing fantasy chicks, especially Red Sonja and Dejah Thoris. Which isn't a bad thing at all. :)
