Precision Gem d30s?

Well, the game is winning me over, and I was extremely sceptical r.e. the dice to say the least.

Now, I've pared down what Zocchi dice I'd actually buy to a couple d14s (frankly, I'd rather roll that and halve the result instead of buying that godawful d7), d16s, d24s, and d30s, but there's still the cost issue (especially as I live outside the US) and I hope GG can eventually alleviate it.

Unfortunately, there's a personal problem here: all my sets of dice are precision gem dice. It's a quirk of mine that I dislike ugly-coloured opaque dice as much as I dislike using non-precision dice (and yes, I use actual casino dice for d6s). Unfortunately, GS don't produce Zocchi d30s that I know of, the Koplow d30s are opaque, round-edged monstrosities, and the only precision d30s I've found are Armory ones in ugly opaque colours.

So, can anyone direct me to any precision d30 gem dice, please?

At Gencon I was told at the GS booth that they had only a handful of precision d30s left in stock and that they had no plans to make more at this time due to how long it took to sell the ones they had. I bought two of them and likely the rest were sold by the end of the con. Hopefully this game generates enough sales to have them reconsider their position but I don't think you will find one at this time (maybe try ebay).

Damn, that's unfortunate as I really don't want to buy some tumbled-to-death d30 from Koplow or the like. Here's hoping Joseph can convince GS to run off some d30s, or someone else to do the range of precision dice.

I got a set from Gamstation.com (Pic here http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 8a333bbfe1) All gem dice all different colors.

be warned the d24 is a B***H to ink/paint But if your sure 2xd14's are all you need then your in luck these were the easiest to ink up!

As youll see I got a Koplow d30 in gem like green from the same place. Its good and fits in with the Zocchi gems but it is very slightly rounded at the edges still

I got my sets from Gamestation a long time ago (pre-parenthood) too, but I'm waiting to see if Goodman manage to get the Zocchi dice for more reasonable prices. With two little ones I don't have the disposable income I once had, and international P&P can be a real killer.

I'm used to inking dice (like I noted, all my standard sets of gem polyhedrals are GameScience, and I hand inked them all), so that's not a problem. I even remember filling in my first set of dice with a crayon. :)

Sadly, your link is broken, so I couldn't see your Koplow gem d30. I haven't encountered any gem d30s yet, so any links that way would be appreciated. I'd prefer if there were precision gem d30s, of course, especially on a dice with so many sides, but ultimately I might have to bite the bullet.

Damn sorry I linked to a FB album and they seem to delight in screwing folks over trying to share stuff. Try this

I know the album was working coz I had feed back on it here in GG's forums. Let me know how this works out. If it still gives you grief I'll PM you individual photos

Thanks, mate, it worked that time. Not entirely sold on the Koplow d30s, I have to say, as it's the dice with the most faces that most benefit from being precision dice. Of course, I'm a fussy sod, but I'm going to hold off in the hope that Joseph can pull something out of the hat regarding precision d30s and greater availability without rip-off P&P charges.

I used to enjoy inking my dice. Used a black sharpie marker. Now I don't have the vision and patience for it. If possible, I only buy pre-inked dice nowadays.

I am so glad someone spared the forums of me saying this myself.
