It was pretty much the same as its been the last several years: not as big a deal as GenCon, but well worth a 1.5 hour drive and $10.
What really made it worth it, though, was finding 12 piece GameScience dice sets (incl. d3, d5, d14, d16, & d24s) for $11 each (!
The other equally cool thing was getting to meet DCC RPG cover artist Doug Kovacs. He had the original paintings for both front and back cover (yeah, I got to see a finished full color Hugh!) plus some of the upcoming adventure covers on display... amazing! I now have an agenda to one day own some original Doug Kovacs artwork.
Doug (like Joseph) is friendly and easy to chat with. He also signed a copy of the DCC RPG "Dig it!" poster and the Free RPG Day Adventure Starter for me.
Other than that, I got Vornheim (it's meant for LotFP, but I'll be looking to use it for DCC), a very cool new boardgame called Chaostle (Chaos + Castle), and a t-shirt
