Converting D&D mods

DCC levels obviously don't scale well with "old" D&D. But it looks like direct conversion is pretty straight forward monster to monster, etc. Could a group of 5th level DCC characters handle a 5th level D&D adventure? Or is a 5th level DCC character comparable to a 10th level D&D char?

5 HD is 5 HD here too. The damage seems to be D&D-like too. It's not like HackMaster, where the power level is half of AD&D levels.

I'm dying to know this myself. I'd really like to run one of the G series, straight, against a party of DCC PCs.

I've posted about some conversions:
AD&D / Castles and Crusades adventure run using DCC RPG rules
Paizo 3.5 adventure run using DCC RPG
The bottom line is that I found doing these easy, fun, and revealing about what I liked about the DCC RPG.

Nice work, Tavis. You seem to have captured the DCC feel of both systems in your conversions.

Yeah -- why do the G modules seem to be perfect for DCC (or DCC perfect for them)? They were the first thing I thought of trying to wing my way through running with DCC...
