So I just got our Free RPG Day Kit...

Let me say that, whenever I am looking forward to a new game, especially after a good deal of time, I have to put some distance between myself & it upon release....the game just can't live up to the hype in my head. I've got the DCC Aventure Starter here, & with just a quick run down of the Core Mechanic, the opening text & the 2 adventures, I'm still waiting for Joseph's release of the beta. Desperately.
Congrats to the Goodman Games team. This is a real accomplishment.
There is not much to spoil here....except for 2 great adventures. Just make sure you grab these because they will be gone quick.
Comic Book World in Florence, KY only has 5.

Sunsword,
Thank you for the kind words! Having seen a draft layout of the beta, I can only say that it is *better* than the Free RPG Day release.

My local game store guy let me take a look at it but said I couldn't have it or take it from the store. I have to show up at 10 AM along with everyone else, which I will gladly do.

I know! The nerve of that guy, right? Following the rules? Who does
that anymore?
I thought that the fact that he would even let me look inside it was pretty darned awesome! (Hint: it has some of those cool Doug Kovacs maps discussed in
the other thread. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.)

I got to read the adventure yesterday as I agreed to run both adventures at the game store for free RPG day. All I can say is wow. Beutiful art and aswome adventures. I really hope the portal under the stars gets made into a more full adventer, perhaps even realesed in three seperate moduals. It has real potential to get placed in the halls of Great Adventure Moduals.
