Play-testers?

Post by Banesfinger »

Does Goodman Games have any need of Playtesters for this game? Our group would love to lend a hand.

Playtesters

Post by warpweaver »

The next organized playtest will be at Gamescape North in San Rafael California at 6pm on Monday, September 17th.

Escape from Palanthion
Dungeoneer Adventures Advance Playtest
3-4 Players
GM - Richard Pocklington
The high priest of Omnisus has been assassinated, and the bloody dagger is found in your hands! Trapped in the great metropolis of Palanthion on the eve of brutal Martial Law, will your quick wits and sharp blades be enough to escape the ever tightening grasp of the corrupt authorities? Come join a quick dungeon romp through the sewers under Palanthion using the new Dungeoneer Adventures ruleset. Take advantage of the quick abstract combat resolution, tactical role-playing system, and fun-filled exploration mechanics in this brand new RPG, coming soon from Goodman Games. Based on the Expandable Card game Dungeoneer by local artist and designer Thomas Denmark.

NB: Characters will be provided, but early arrivals will have time to explore the rules and design their own heroes.
bye for now,

Any Dungeoneer RPG reports/sightings from Gamescape?

The most recent test of "Escape from Palanthion" at Gamescape North in San Rafael, California was a great success. All four heroes survived, barely. I don't know if it was just the great group of guys we had at the table, or if giving tangible glory rewards for the roleplay phase really is that highly motivating. Every hero kept in character for their roleplay phase. There was not a single roleplay interaction that was not at least interesting or amusing (netting the speaker 1 glory), if not hillareous or inspiring (providing 2 or in one case 3 glory).

In the end, the feedback helped us:
1: recalibrate the glory rewards from combat,
2: better understand the effect global peril has on the heroes,
3: clarify the use of the tavern in the roleplay phase.

I will be posting a full report as the next designer diary shortly.
Onwards to Glory!
bye for now,
