The World of Aereth/Asking the experts

Post by someguyfromohio »

Greetings all.
Under the profile for Daessa (GMs Guide pg. 101), it states that she spent time with the “Lamasery of the Dead”. Where is the info on these people/organization.

Hi, Someguy!
The World of Aerath/Asking the experts
You mean Áereth?
Hey, it's fun being an "expert"!

There is no official writeup of the Lamasery of the Dead, though I believe it is also mentioned in the entry for the Maw of Mictlan in the Gazetteer (p. 98?), which is located at the terminus of the Mochitla River. It should be noted that the terminus of this particular river is in the mountains, not the ocean. It flows backward. One of the anomalies of the Southlands.

Think of the Lamasary as a monastery of mystics or monks that is dedicated to the study of death because it is, quite literally, perched above the Maw of Mictlan, a roaring waterfall that the Xulmec people believes leads directly into the Underworld. How you depict or envision the Lamasery monks to is up to the GM's interpretation. The monks and clerics who live there are certainly going to be eccentric, even for monks, and probably comprise humans from Xulmec, a handful of drakon from Ssorlang, and maybe even the Shadowed West.

(If there is a DCC world expansion, you can bet I'll be signed up to detail this further.)

Does this help?

Jeff,
Thanks for the info. If I can get you to answer enough questions, then I won’t have to purchase the next box set. :D

Would you believe that’s how we spell it in Ohio?
