Has anyone used it as a campaign starter? If so how?

The first encounter with the possessed ogre (can't recall his name right now) has me really jazzed. How did you handle this psychopath?

I was thinking about really having this gent (possible a fire giant right? Dark skin and all) really wreaking havoc on a local village...doing some mean damage.

I've talked to several people at cons who have run it, but they all used it as a stand-alone adventure, not a campaign starter. Sorry, I can't help on that front!
