Plaguelord,
The Slithering Overlord has monsters of varied creature types. The only types missing are oozes and constructs; all other types are represented by at least one creature.
The most common monsters encountered are troglodytes, duergar, grimlocks, and many assorted aberrations (two of them are BBEGs, one of which is depicted on the cover).
In addition, the adventure features four brand-new creatures (two magical beasts and two aberrations).
Hope that helps!

Where in the world of Áereth is this adventure located? According to the GG Adventure Finder it is no desert setting... can anyone help? Thanks!

Here is the official map -- which can also be found in the module. Starting with #41 they're in color on the back cover...

Thanks, Joseph! And that map location in full color is a really cool idea, by the way. :D
