It was just severely impacted by Covid. As the guy who's working on layout for a volume, I can say it is still very much a going thing -- just going more slowly than anyone would prefer...!

Re: Cleric of Cthulhu? Turn Unholy?

I think what a Cleric of Cthulhu could turn would be natural animals and any demons/devils that aren't part of the Mythos. Those spring immediately to mind... Perhaps other "mythological" creatures would be a good fit, too -- like, a unicorn or a griffon, a minotaur, things like that from ...

Re: DCC version of Reincarnated Series?

They do not exist.

OAR 1-6 are designed for 5e, and include the original versions as well (which would work decently with minimal effort for DCC).a

OAR 7 and 8 will have DCC versions.

Re: Thinking about running a con game

Anything with a strong, clear hook works well for a con -- the players can really get moving if they know clearly what they're after, whether it's a rescue, treasure hunt, escape, or whatever, as long as it's clear what they are meant to be doing. There are plenty of the published modules that are e...

Re: MCC Core Rulebook: Backerkit same as DriveThruRPG?

It's *likely* that the DriveThru version is more recent, but I dunno for sure... I do know that in general DriveThru PDFs get updated to current versions with fixes and stuff, but it's not an instant thing for whatever reason.

Re: upcoming changes to OGL

Doubtless there are internal discussions withing the company -- we just haven't heard the outcome of those discussions yet. As for us discussing it, well, here we are. My understanding has been that the design of the original OGL was that it existed and couldn't 'un-exist' -- but I'm not a lawyer by...

Re: Core Rules Setting Sandbox?

What if Crypt of the Devil Lich were a toe-dip into larger DCC adventures? Speculation, but if its success kept rolling on beyond the Kickstarter, perhaps that would encourage things...? Personally, I've always found players are more excited for the "new/next thing" than lengthy campaignin...

Re: Question (& spoiler) about the module Frozen In Time

You can't *enter* the field. Anyone *touching* the field is subject the effect, but they aren't going to paralyzed *within* the field, but most likely fall away from it, same as if they bumped into a wall and it knocked them out -- they fall to the floor next to it.

I think the most likely reason users are not allowed to change their own name is so that no one can pretend to be someone else and post in their name...

Message me with what you want it changed to, and I'll get it set up.

Re: Variant Rules: Skill Dice by Occupation - Chart

My preference is to ditch pluses and minuses wherever possible and leave it to the dice of the Three Fates to decide. Anywhere in the rules where it says -2 to hit (for instance firing into combat) I would rather step down the dice chain. And vice versa for +2 to hit. Same here. The Dice Chain is a...

Is P the letter for Cleric?? Yeah, sorry. When I was typing up the list I had in mind "Priest" rather than "Cleric". I think at one point I actually had "C" instead of "P" and convinced myself it was the other way around. At first, I was pitched into thinking...

I don't know if Bruce Cunnington is on the boards here or not -- so many screen names, so unable to tell who is behind them... But I'm guessing that game is sold out. Looks like the ticket system for Dragonmeet is only showing games that still have spaces available, hence some of them have 1 ticket ...

Re: funnel for beginners

For folks completely new to RPGs, I recommend Hole in the Sky, which has a strong 'dark fairy tale' vibe to it, which almost anyone can relate to... It's not particularly dependent on RPG tropes, and has a mission embedded in it other than "let's go get treasure" which many players latch o...
