Re: Playtest Feedback Guidelines
As a university lecturer who has to go through the yearly cycle of feedback from students, may I remind everyone, as I do my students, that feedback doesn't mean just the perceived negatives. All too often people view "feedback" and "criticism" in a pejorative sense. Getting feed...

Cricky, 7:30 am and I'm download 589 already. Wait until the USA wakes up! It looks very streamlined and an easy system to master. I like the artwork, but it looks too much to me. Must be approaching 40% of the book! What is it, a set of rules or an coffee table art book? Did any old school publicat...

Re: The beta rules will be available...
Maybe we could print little portfolios for the wizards to keep their spells in. Something like this: http://www.marcopromotionalproducts.com/Product/Glossy-Presentation-Folder-Printed-FO-21K-PR-38473.htm?promotion=& I like it! Somehow it feels like there's some real potential with this idea... ...

Get ready for your server to crash. You might want to feed it some lembas in preparation.
This is extremely good news tome as I will now be able to print it up and take it on holiday with me
Thanks greatly.

Re: Spells, and what to do with them.... [long]
Looking at the scorching ray example, it looks to me like the top 6 rows could be condensed down 3 rows, double column.
I also wonder why the level needs to be stated so explicitly. Perhaps just placing the level in brackets after the spell name? e.g., "Scortching ray (2)"

Re: [Design Question] DCC RPG and 10 Levels
Though it should be stated for the record that our 6 hp wizard ended the session by devouring the souls of 13 witches to fuel his own magical insanity. The all-powerful PC wizard was only laid low when our thief learned the wizard's True Name (for which he paid with his life) and the cleric banishe...

Re: Spells, and what to do with them.... [long]
Having seen the description for magic missiles, I'm surprised the spells take, on average, slightly greater than a page each (32 spells take up 35 pages). There must be some huge spells in there that are causing such an average spell:page ratio. Perhaps, more effort in describing them telegraphicall...

Although it's only a photo, they look much better inked than the ones I got from the "dice shop" here in the UK. I'm going to have to re-ink all of mine other than the Koplow d30. I wonder if Europe get the US rejects, or else I've just been unlucky.

Re: Aereth reboot for DCC RPG?
RL at age 40+ gets a tad busy but I may just be the minority (doubtful though). :) Yep, time is at a premium, especially when you have young children. Hence, a published setting, even if one then heavily mods it, is worth its weight in gold. Having said that, I've been toying with the idea of creat...

l33t  I don't understand this. I feel so old and un-cool. Pronounced "leet", which is supposed to be a truncation of "elite". It takes advantage of the common "kewl" technique of using numbers in place of letters, preferably if the numbers look like mirror image...

Re: Why Levels?
I understand reservations about levels. They are explicitly artificial gamey aspects of an RPG, especially when viewed from this long into RPG history. However, I think it fits in with the old school feel that the DCC RPG is trying to capture. Along with the sense of the unknown and adventure, part ...

[Edit] Darn, I should have done a search before posting. I've now found the thread where Aereth is discussed (I even posted in it!) Must drink more coffee..... When I was 12 years old, in 1978, a rumour went through the school about some wonderful new game called Dungeons and Dragons. We had heard of it, but being only 12, couldn't afford any proper books for it (AD&D hadn't yet been published if I'm not mistaken, plus Australia was always slightly beh...

The Koplow URL in Joseph's post above takes you to a spam site. I believe the REAL URL is http://www.koplowgames.com/
Jospeh, you might want to fix that text before the beta rules are sent out!
