Re: Status of Eldritch RPG?
What's the current status? The projects for Eldritch are still alive. I've teamed up with Eric Bergeron to create a new Eldritch Basic version coupled with Eric's new campaign setting. I'm also working on self-publishing the original campaign setting (Ainereve) so folks have access to that great wo...

You'll find it here

It was on Goodman's front page. I should have linked here too.

Re: Range Definitions
Thanks, Dan! My bad. Was looking at my book. Should have checked the PDF version before posting. I'm assuming those numbers are in feet. We had our first session Saturday night and although we spent most of the three hours creating character backstories, I took them all through a combat scenario at...

This IS the special software. :) We upgraded the forums about 18 months ago to a version with better anti-spam software, and they held strong until the last couple weeks. I guess the spammers have improved their methods... Yeah, they have more hitpoints now, and upgraded from feats to using per-enc...

Wow, you're having a nasty time with porn spammers. I've never seen that happen as much...
Anyway, is there special software that prevents spam on forums?

It was dropped, because it was complicated. However, it was updated in the Monsters PDF supplement. I'd like to see several different ways, and I'm looking for short articles on the subject from those who currently run the game.
Glad to see you again!

Re: Calculation of ADPs in Updated PDF
Yup, that's me. Your work with LA was what made me curious about Eldritch. Your answers jive with what I figured the intent of the system is; the editor in me can't help but notices these things. Eldritch nicely allows for free-form play while still providing a solid framework for high adventure. H...

Hi there! Boy, your name looks familar to me. Did you contribute to the Lejendary Adventure game at one time? Anyway... I'm so glad you like what you see so far! I don't have my PDF with me, so I'll double check everything tonight. If Gegdin's Reflexes is listed twice, it must have been a case of se...

Oh, and I remember you saying that scrutiny rolls were very important in your games, and you added some specializations for specifc sensory types. Care to reveal what you did here?

Re: Session 1 of Two-session mini-game
Hello old friend (said in my best Ian Mckellen voice), glad to hear the session went well. Did you increase the base Spell Points by x2 or even x3? That would help, although players often forget they can dip into their Resilience to continue casting. In a "low magic" area, that's what happ...

Re: Finally played a session!
I'm glad you had fun! Combat moves very quickly in the game, but without sacrificing a sense of depth and interplay. "Fodder" creatures are just that; cannon fodder. Minions, grunts, whatever you call them. Up the ante with standard creatures (with an average of 2D in primary attack form),...

I'm glad to hear this. Dieter did a great job! I like the danger zone idea too; it meshes very well with how the Defense Pools are supposed to work in the ongoing narrative.

Re: Question about leveling up.
It actually depends on the type of game I'm running. If it's a one-shot, I tend to ignore such rules and allow whatever ability the players want. I might give them a number of CPs based on level, or even say "create whatever you've got in mind". If, however, I'm running a long-term campaig...

Re: RPtools
Thanks very much for the link. I just used DiceTool for my game (not Eldritch, though), and it's most useful diceroller I've ever used. Maptools has the most flexible dice roller built in too. I can type in D8+D6+D4+2 and it has no issue with that. Fantasy Grounds has you roll each die separately (...

By the way, the best way to game online using the ERP rules is by using Maptool, with http://www.rptools.net/. It's free, and the community there is awesome.
If anybody wants to run a game using that system, I'll sit in, and I promise I won't overtake the game.

Re: My review of the Up-Dated ERP pdf on RPGNOW
Thank you for the kind words. The updated PDF has hyperlinks too, and bookmarks. Note too, the game is unchanged. I added a few things (optional rules here and there), and clarified some stuff. I've tinkered with how some of the defense pools are calculated, but honestly, I'd bet each group will ame...

Do you think your players will want to get back to Eldritch after the next rotation? Your game lasted quite a while. Also, how many sessions and how many levels were gained? Where your players happy with the speed of advancement?StormPatriarch wrote:Eighteenth session experience…All players present.

Yeah, I know that piece, but what if you don't have a specific task? I know that technically you can handle anything with a difficulty dice, but it would be nice to an analogue to "ok, you rolled 10 at the Music roll, the song you wrote is inspiring" (the goal of writing the best song you...
