Re: Age of Cthulhu 3: Shadows of Leningrad

FYI, kids: "Age of Cthulhu 3: Shadows of Leningrad" is on its way to the printers! There's also a special offer going on now: if you pre-order Age of Cthulhu 3: Shadows of Leningrad at the Goodman Games online store (or at your local game store), you'll be entered in a drawing for original...

Re: Age of Cthulhu 3: Shadows of Leningrad

Both Pookie and Chad Bowser were involved in the editing process of "Shadows of Leningrad".

The finished adventure should be all the better due to their involvement. My thanks goes out to the both of them for their time and their hard work.

Re: Goodman Games' "Age of Cthulhu" exposure

FWIW, I will be running "Shadows of Leningrad" - and perhaps a few other AoC adventures - at a couple of gaming conventions in the New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania area this year. I'll post more details as I get them confirmed with the appropriate convention folks. Hope to see some of you ...

As one of the contributing authors to "Scroll of Ruin", it warms my cold, evil black heart to read threads like these.

We write these adventures to challenge you guys and gals ... and it's great to see how you all rise to that challenge!

Keep the war stories coming!

Re: Talons of the Horned King - 1E Conversion

I read in the other thread that there was a 1E conversion of Talons of the Horned King available at GenCon. Did this actually happen and if so, will this conversion be available here (if only for a limited time) anytime soon like the previous 1E conversions were? M Did this actually happen? Sure di...

You've got an in. Talk to the boys!!!

Personally, I'd love to write it. :)
Trust me, I don't have that much clout.

If I did, this would already be on the shelves of your local game store!

I'd love to write a new version of Broncosaurus Rex as well. :)

Re: How Far Ahead Do You Plan Your Campaign?

Again, this is just my experience. But I've noticed through the years that if I only offer one option for players to try, and one directions for them to go, they'll resist it. ("The Caves of Chaos? Pfft. Sounds dangerous. We'll stay here at the Keep and rest up.") It doesn't matter if the ...

Re: How Far Ahead Do You Plan Your Campaign?

So, when you are planning an adventure or campaign, do you plan out all the details out to the Nth degree for months to come, wing the whole thing, or do something in between? Long term - I usually have an ending that I'm aiming for, and several "big picture" events in mind that I want to...

Re: Question about the Age of Cthulhu line

Rick was nice enough to ask me to be Keeper for one of the playtests. It's a wonderfully-written adventure that just drips with Lovecraftian horror. Literally. Any Call of Cthulhu fan will be doing themselves a big favor by picking this one up. And yes, there's blood , in case that wasn't mentioned ...

Maybe they think nobody wants it so they don't stock it. Or maybe they're just sold out because so many people are buying them. "Thrones of Punjar" is a really good module. Make sure you bug your local store owners to get this one on the shelves (as well as the other Punjar modules). Harl...

Re: Memories

Back when I played Call of Cthulhu on a semi-regular basis, some of my favorite memories was playing a reporter for the Arkham Express named Silas Marlowe. Being an astute reporter, he noticed that whenever an ancient book was discovered ... Bad Things Happened. So he took to carrying a can of gasol...

Re: CW - Aeraelith question

Hey Jezza, I just read through that section of CW - I didn't get the impression that Aeraelith *needed* to attack anyone who came within 10' of the pipe organ. Aeraelith is going to do its best to convince the party that it needs to be freed. If such convincing means that they party must come within...

Rick Maffei - the esteemed writer of "Scaly God" - is also working on a Call of Cthulhu adventure.

Between Rick and Adrian, I'd say that the next few CoC adventures from Goodman Games will be impressive - and fearsome - indeed. :D

Congrats to them both!

Re: What are you playing?

This 'houseruling' you speak of, is what playing the game was back in the day.... :D Oh, definitely. I actually don't mind it, provided that you have a group of players willing to roll with it. My main concern with houseruling is usually just consistency. For example, a fighter wants to scale a 20-...

Re: What are you playing?

I find the stark simplicity of B/X D&D to be refreshing. Of course, the downside of the game is also its stark simplicity. If you're DMing this game, get ready to houserule. A lot. Almost forgot - I'm also trying to put together a Warhammer FRPG game. (That's assuming, of course, that I can mana...

Re: DCC #54: Extra Dwarves

xredjasonx - You might want to wait until getting "Wyvern Mountain" before figuring out exactly how you want to connect "Forges" to it. Some of what you've got planned will fit in perfectly with leading into the adventure. But there's a few other things that you might want to add...
