Re: Death & Dying in DCC RPG

We could make it very simple if you wanted damage to reflect something more than just loose x hp. Have 1 chart with 100 different things, be it unconscious, a particular wound, stunned, blinded, etc. whatever you like. You could have some that really did nothing but add comic relief, their is room f...

Re: What would the slavers do?

I thought everyone might like to know how this situation played out. My group of 8 PC's ended up deciding to camp starting about 4pm in the bottom floor of the spire with 2 pc's on guard in rotation. 1 in the top of the spire and one just outside the spire door to keep watch. At sunset I had the gua...

Re: What would the slavers do?

Ok so hear are the tactics that I've come up with. Using the hay from the stables should be of ample supply to start one hell of a smoke fire to fill the tower. They will set this on the second floor to real smoke out the top while they wait in ambush with trip wires on the stairs between level 1 an...

Re: What would the slavers do?

The Iron Manacle has lost only 3 members the two in the gatehouse (rogue escaped) and the rogue in the tower. If I throw the IM at them full force it would consist of about 4 (War1) Slavers and 1 (Rog1) and would include Ikenvar and Melchin. That's pretty heavy with no way to retreat. That puts 7 ag...

What would the slavers do?

My group has entered the castle and cleared the gatehouse but the rogue slaver escaped and warned the others and they are on alert. Then the party cleared out the spire and are using it as a base of operations. They plan on camping in the top of the tower with the trap door bolted for protection in ...

Re: Healing and clerics

Well on the grace/luck versus injury thing..... If you based it on the to hit die roll then if the fighter needed a 12 to hit and rolled within 4 like 12-16 then it would do grace/luck damage if the foe had any grace/luck points left. Then say 17-19 was a wound as mentioned in earlier post that woul...

Re: Healing and clerics

I was thinking that since it sounds as if DCC RPG is going to have some randomness to it with the crits and fumbles etc. then if we base physical injury (actual wounds) on CON damage as some suggest then why not a table to roll off at certain levels of CON loss with each one getting worse. That way ...

Re: Healing and clerics

One thing that would help with the factor of "feeling" real as far as damage goes, would be to divide the hit point system into two categories such as Grace and Health. Grace being luck, dodges and no physical damage. While health would be physical wounds that would probably be based on yo...

Re: Healing and clerics

Let me throw something out that I use as a house rule in my 3.5 campaign. This effectively frees up the cleric as far as being a heal bot. They have a natural divine ability called divine presence. Divine Presence When allies touch you, or even the hem of your clothing, they are blessed with healing...

Encounter 1: (Gatehouse) “I hear you bashing but you can't come in.” Arriving at the top of the mountain visibility was limited due to the clouds but they could make out the lake and the castle, they saw the path leading down toward both and headed down. When the path came to a cave entrance they w...

Re: Hit Points, Conditions and Non-Lethal Effects

Monte Cook did something similar in his Book of Experimental Might by dividing HP into health and grace.... I've been using this system in my 3.5 campaigns for a few years and it works out great. I have detailed how it works below: Hit Points All characters start with bonus hit points equal to their...

and with that the Prep work is done..... now I will post how it all played out after Sundays session..... The script above is a guide for how things move along, it will be fun to see how the PC's change the script.

It should be very interesting..... to say the least....

This huge room is the heart and soul of the inn. It is dominated by a polished mahogany bar with matching barstools. A large stone fireplace adorns the east wall, complete with an oak mantle. Another, smaller fireplace is situated along the north wall, next to a swinging door leading to the busy kit...

Re: CWR From Both Sides Of The DM Screen

Ok now the reasoning behind all the work on the pre-gens, I wanted the players to have to use them to start. I made them pick their characters simply from the back stories, which one they thought they could role play the best. They never saw one stat besides class and race beforehand. First and fore...

CWR From Both Sides Of The DM Screen

First off, I wanted to create a thread that both would track my groups new CWR campaign but also show the DM side as far as prep and storylines before each session. I am the kind of DM that likes to prep as much as possible so I’m ready for the curve balls that I know the players will throw. Maybe t...
