Spoilers. HA! My players walked right onto Azubal's cave, fists swingin'....even though they knew he's a vampire! My dice were rollin' crap, so Azubal swung a few times and missed (I described it as him "toying" with them). They fired off magical (non-silver) arrows and melee weapons to no...

2nd post down, and a random post or two after. Spoilers in that ^ post, if you're a player. (I ditched the Adventure Path idea that I mention.)

I renamed Quenn, as I do most NPCs.

Re: False Hopes

the players looked at the small doll/fetishes and wondered if it would be wise to just let them be. Nightwing kept thinking about touching or taking one of them, but JediWife had “a bad feeling about this.” SPOILERS ABOUT THE ADVENTURE AHEAD. Ok. On the way down, my players reacted the same way to ...

Re: Hall of Mysteries

Harley, glad you are enjoying our little adventure in your module! The ladder leads the PCs down into one of the most memorable rooms I’ve ever read in a module. The players are close to awe struck as I read and describe the room. If for no other reason, I’m glad to have run this mini-adventure so ...

Vote for a DCC to be rendered in 3D

You ever been at work, and your buddy's going out to get Starbucks (or whatever) and you say, "You fly and I'll buy"--? That's a similar non-business arrangement that None the Wiser and I have: I'll cover the cost of a PDF of a DCC if he'll render it in 3D using SketchUp. Once he's done, h...

OK, what I'm seeing is that my 3rd level party is able to take down the gobbo threats and bats more easily than None the Wiser's larger (but lower-level) group, but my guys still haven't gotten to Azubal yet so I'm not sure how they'll fare against the vamp. They stood at the edge of the shadow well...

My players just recently completed the Goblin Spires portion of the adventure. ** SNIP ** Hunh. You have 6 players, averaging 2nd level, with a cleric. I have 3, averaging 3rd level, with a hireling physician (basically a non-spellcasting doctor). No cleric, no turning. No invisibility to undead . ...

I'm thinking of story-timing our run through Into the Wilds, but it'll take some considerable writing to explain the backstory, especially considering the tech level is a little higher than standard D&D, and the way it got that way is....complicated.

SPOILERS ahead. My players: Human dragon shaman 3rd level, elf Thief 3rd level, gnome Bard2/Beguiler1. The Bard has a ring of healing , so they've got minimal, but existent, healing capabilities. My group decided to cross the bridge, rather than the ford, and ended up on the "wrong" side o...

Re: Into the Wilds error, or is it just me? Harley?

:) I can't speak to Ogre's sanity (or eyesight) but the map error is my fault. 10 ft. / square it is. I think either Wilds or Revenge was the last of my 10 ft. scale maps; everything after that should be on the 5 ft. scale. Seemed logical. Thanks! And yeah, I don't think anyone should speak to my s...

Into the Wilds error, or is it just me? Harley?

The inner cover map--the big one. It appears to have no scale. Unless I'm either crazy or blind (and these days I'm thinking probably both). I assume, since the stairway pit at area 1-1A is ten feet across (which, on the map, is just a wee bit smaller than the grid squares) that the scale is the sam...

Help! Ideas requested [Into the Wilds / Wildsgate-related]

OK, my group--three players, all 3rd level (hovering on 4th): an Elf thief, a Human dragon shaman and a Gnome bard--are in Wildsgate right now. (In fact, they'll be making their first foray into the Wilds to go gobbo-hunting next game!) My version of Wildsgate (and Aereth as a whole) is a little mor...

Re: DCC #29 -- Well of the Worms

He was disgusted with 3.X rules. Oh man....tell me about it. As much as I prefer aspects of 3.5 over AD&D 2nd Ed, we got an assload more ROLE playing done in those days, rather than ROLL playing like we do now. I'm sick to death of the expression "attack of opportunity." :x [/threadja...
