Re: Bestiary?
Is the wiki still around? I can't find the link to it, but I'm probably looking right over it. lol No. The website was put together by some volunteers, but they didn't have the time to maintain it, so I felt a poorly maintained website was worse than none at all. The wiki can be recreated using one...

Re: Fifth session experience....
Perhaps the CS should reflect the wearing of armor... I'm not sure. CS is supposed to predict lethality, not so much longevity. At what point those two factors begin to significantly affect each other, I'm not entirely sure. It makes sense that "the longer it lasts the more harm it can inflict...

Re: New to Eldritch
And from what Dan mentioned above, the standard initiative system doesn't sound so complex (and I don't mind the same order every round). Unless, of course, I'm missing something. I'm going to try to give the entire book a good read through this weekend so I'll have more to say then. Just keep in m...

Re: New to Eldritch
How about that, two surprises in one day. Another C&C player in VA (I didn't know of any outside my group though I had heard rumors) and a designer who's readily available. Shocking. :) Thanks to both of you for the insights. I'll need to actually finish a full read through and then run it with...

Re: New to Eldritch
Hi there! 1. The classless system. No artificial "class abilities" to worry about--if a PC wants to move silently, she does, and there are no "but she can't do it as well as a rogue could" hassles. There are also occupational guidelines for players who prefer that approach, but t...

Re: Converting creatures
You're right. It looks like the x2 was used as if it pertained to the HP and not RS in that example. It's now been fixed. But in the example, the creature has a base of 10 HP, plus a x4 to HP, for an additional 75% of 10 = 7.5. So 10 + 7.5 = 17.5 (round up to 18).

Calculating the Challenge Score [revised]: Calculate a creature's CS score as follows: Creature final HP equals base Challenge Score. Then, add up any modifiers to HP (not to both HP and RS) and consult the chart below, rounding up to find final CS score. Don't worry about RS modifiers, as they rea...

Re: More Magic suggestions
I wonder how it's working out with 4E with the focus being on group composition and fulfilling requisite roles to have a "workable" party? I don't know that such a thing applies so much to ERP. No clue. I'm trying to pay as little attention to 4e as I can! I haven't played it yet. Probabl...

Re: My PC party rendered here for testing:
Rereading the thread, How about Willpower being used as Armor versus spells? How about just Harm ones? Tap self: Can not be used to heal. Question: Can is be used to boost Spell Heal? Can it boost Arcane focus? If one were to go this way...I would say resistance for harm spells only because semanti...

Re: More Magic suggestions
Pointing those points into an Extra Spell Action would only reduce the potential power and effectiveness of each spell. Why? If 6 CP are spent, wouldn't they have the full MRV of their Arcanum tree for each spell? Those points could be applied to a primary magical ADC to increase overall effectiven...

another caster can cast Mantle on that tank and refill deflect if he rolls higher than the (current or original?) values. Which is it? The current value when the spell lands, or the value of first caster's roll? Another caster can cast Mantle on that tank and refill deflect if he rolls higher than ...

Re: More Magic suggestions
The Extra Spell Action would work too! Write it just like Extra Weapon (sans stuff about dual-wielding of course). I don't know... It seems like this would result in one-dimensional characters (all CP put into spell casting). (Hey, I know my players!) An extra attack doesn't seem to be as powerful ...

Re: Third session experience....
A note on stacking. (Mantle): We are not allowing any stacking, right? What if a group has a couple of casters in support. They both cast Mantle on tank. I say only the highest effect sticks. They both pay the costs ( and need to plan better). Though, this does mean that another caster can cast Man...

Re: More Magic suggestions
Two suggestions came out of session four that I forgot to mention: 1. New advantage called Extra Spell Action: Works similar to Extra Weapon Attack at same cost. 2. Split spell casting: Works like Split attacks do. Any thoughts on game balance harm? You can split Harm spells. Allowing it for other ...

Re: Reading a spell from a scroll
You get one bonus spell per level, meaning another you can cast, which assumes you were studying in general. Otherwise you pick them up while in adventures. If you transfer a spell into your book, and that brings your total number of spells above your limit, you can still cast the new spell. Just tr...

Short session since a major battle loomed at the end and we were down a player. Went over the previous sessions discussions( split attacks, Extra Weapon Att, etc). Party was checking out the room we left them in last time. While checking the curtained alcoves, One of the PCs spotted a figure dartin...

Re: Reading a spell from a scroll
If a spell is cast from a scroll, does it disappear from the scroll? I would say "No" since it does not appear to be specifically mentioned in the book. The negatives of only using your arcanum die and having to have the power source spec are enough restrictions as far as I am concerned. ...

Re: What are the in-game benefits of the Healing ability?
I was thinking it would be easy to stop them from dying on the ground (negatives to zero), but hard to ensure a speedy recovery (2D12 from 0). Maybe set a static difficulty of 2 to stabilize a character with negative Toughness (that way, even someone with the lowest amount training in healing (D4) ...
