Re: Understanding Ability Score Damage
Your modifier certainly would drop, and does with Luck, too (except for the Lucky Sign Birth Augur result- that's static). In most cases, if an ability score hits zero you die, or at least pass out until you get a score of at least 1-3 points.

Re: Tales from the Road...
Wednesday night the mercenary troupe in Hirot set out for the tomb of the Savage Kings after talks with Bull Haverson and Ymae the witch indicated that the old serpent mound may contain something to aid in their hunt (actually following two separate leads). The guardian was dealt with with torches b...

Re: Tales from the Road...
Oh! I totally missed the whole point you were getting at. I agree with your logical assessment, but it can all be semantics (dramatics, that is!) to say... ...lets assume the Judges Forum to be for judges and therefore chock full-o-spoilers... ...all fails randomly and thereby roughly all over, but ...

Re: Tales from the Road...
I have the tower's top just a bit above the waves- a few feet (and a DC 5 climb check) above the top of the boat they sailed up in (last time, anyway). As for that other bit, if you mean the door that will get harder to open later, I DO have a plan! SPOILER ALERT! Intentionally vague spoilers ensue,...

Re: Tales from the Road...
This past week was crazy. My normal Wednesday core group (now running Doom ) is switching to bi-weekly, so some of Thursday's crew and some first time players jumped on it. We ran a "quick" scenario from The Shambling Un-dead , linking it via the party's druid (cleric) going to Cowlinsport...

Re: Tales from the Road...
Well, October has run a bit slow due to cancellations from my core groups, but Sailors on a Starless Sea concluded nicely (well, not SO nicely, seeing as how the tentacled horror was...er...molested by an inventive-if-creepy player into fleeing) and my second group has moved on to Doom of the Savage...

Re: Tales from the Road...
YES! As of this night I now have SIX official games under my belt and a growing band of marauding PCs! Most of the original players from my three "campaigns" have leveled, with new additions and stragglers eager to catch up and gain some hard-earned power and glory for themselves. Last nig...

Tales from the Road...
So since I've gotten back to the Great Swamplands (you may know them as "Floor-Id-Dah") and gotten drafted to the Road Crew, I've had three seperate quasi-occasional "campaigns" running. I've started no less than THREE funnels: The Tribe of Ogg and the Gift of Suss, Sailors on a ...

I'M WITH THE BAND! Got hooked up, got three official gigs going, and got my first set of sweet, sweet swag! So far, I've (officially) ran The Tribe of Ogg and the Gift of Suss, Sailors on a Starless Sea, and The Shambling Un-Dead - all with several survivors and repeat offendors, hahaha...

Don't get me wrong- it's a KILLER deal any-which-way! I just noticed the oddity when I was trying to finagle how I was gonna get in on this before the thing ends.

Re: New Kickstarter for D13 and D15
Odd question: It seems that with the glowing dice, the DCC compatible dice are the only ones that cost extra. There are other sets not suited to DCC with funky and odd sided dice, but no additional cost for the glow on these. Any reason for that?

This was such a weird, fun thing! I'd love to run this mod for my crews. Any word on a follow-up level one thing? PbP or otherwise?

Re: Joining the road crew difficulty...
The link to that page (the one you posted) works. The funky one is the Email Us one (how you actually get the thing done). I think I found a work-around now that I've posted, but the webmaster should have a look.

Re: New Kickstarter for D13 and D15
While the D13 and D15 are neat, I don't know when they'd be used... however I'm just happy they're making more funky dice we CAN use!

Re: Funnel Advice | How many monsters in an encounter
When the angry mob of villagers storms the gatehouse in my games it just lulls them into a state of false confidence. What lies below usually pans out differently, so let them have their small victories! Also, my games usually break at that point to go back to town, level up, etc. often to pick up i...

Re: DCC Weird Dice
Holy crap, THIS! The main complaint I have with DCC is that those weird dice are so hard to come by, and the scant few I CAN find are in colors I don't like. Please bring back Hugh and Shanna's dice sets! I'll grow an epic stash AND an afro if I have to!

Joining the road crew difficulty...
The link on the main site appears to be broken... who do I need to get in contact with to sign up? Also, the free RC adventures seem to no longer be available- links also broken. I've got games lined up and peaople signed up to sacrifice those zeroes to the almighty funnel, so any help is appreciated!

Re: Scaling Adventures
One thing I love about DCC is there is really no need to scale per se as XP is awarded by difficulty/risk/loss during an encounter. If the campaign ends up being easy, low XP and the baddies catch up. Too hard and the survivors level up to par-or wipe completely!.

Re: Attack Rolls for Spells
I usually require an attack roll for anything that feels like a ray or projectile oriented spell. barring of course the homing spells like magic missile . On that not, I believe D&D4e had an auto-hit version of the spell that pinged for 1hp or the attack-roll-to-hit type for 1d4. Does anyone els...

I don' t like our odds using a grapple... unless someone has a better idea, maybe we should try that other passage and come back here?
