Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Moarbanez bursts into the room with warbanner held high, his blade at the ready! His already dark fur is darker for the blood that mattes it now and battle-lust widens both his eyes and crazed grin... Moarbanez:  " Dauð eða dýrð! " Darag remains a pace back, uncertain of what may...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Darag claws the air in attempt to catch Moarbanez as he flies by, howling with battle-crazed excitement. Arvis barks a short, commanding set of syllables at the charging kith... Arvis: :x " Hættu! Bíðið!! " ...which Moarbanez ignores howling all the louder. Beega and Kolo clutch their sto...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Moarbanez surges forward with a howl, banner flapping in one hand sword in the other. Palm to furred face, Dara falls in behind him as he runs heedlessly past her. The remaining pack move up three abreast, attempting to maintain a defense backline formation. I'm rather bad at first impressions, lol...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
The small knot of kith huddle back to back, weapons drawn before them defensively. A smallish specimen (Darag) cloaked in the skin taken from a foe, sneaks forward to get an idea of how many beings approach. A burly male (Arvis) grunts a cautionary tone to her and follows at a short distance with t...

Several of the critical hit effects actually differentiate whether the target has a helmet or not, so yeah- protects your head!

Re: Generating loot for "corpses of countless victims,..."
Carrion crawlers, ghouls, and other scavengers compete with looters, as well as natural scavengers such as bears, wolves, etc. Add rot grubs to taste. Forget not the restless dead themselves who may be tied to their former possessions

Re: Where to buy figures for DCC?
Bloodrage has awesome minis and expansion sets (like Zombicide). Since running Intrigue at the Court of Chaos I keep a can of playdoh at my game table. Great for oozes/slimes, but if you're a quick sculpt you can get some random-gen demons, dragons, or whatever you can whip out

Re: DCC-Style Paper Miniatures? I'd Buy Them!
I'd buy them, too! Been thinking of a way to do this for myself, especially for high character-count funnels or uniquely weird monsters. D&D sells packs of cardboard pawns for just this reason, but I'd LOVE some DCC art versions!!!

Tuesday night Dungeon Crawls in Blairsville, GA
We're doing every Tuesday night about 7:30-10:30 @ Gibson's Gaming and Trade Post in Blairsville, GA. Currently running Sailors on a Starless Sea, hoping to string a few modules into another campaign (always with room for new "hirelings" to try out, adding another night if need be!). Check...

Re: Elfland?
I love the blacklight poster motif... definitely DCC! I borrow from faeri lore for elven origins, taking from Irish legend and Whitewolf's Changeling book. In both, entrances to the fae realm are often where two extremes meet (ie land/sea, sea/sky, day/night, summer/spring, east/west (like at the po...

Re: Elfland?
Elfland is the ancestral home of the elven race, and is an island that can only be sailed to by enchanted ships that can slip over the horizon where sea meets sky at dawn or dusk. The land itself is at once an isle divied up by the faeri ancestors of modern elves (wild/wood elves, the sidhe/high elv...

Re: Human Druidic Gods
One of my players follows Ymir (who is equated with Variag in at least one source). He reasoned since the giant's corpse was used to fashion the earth and sky, his god was the natural world. I loved this dead-but-dreaming idea, and even planned a campaign to the elemental plane of "earth" ...

Thanks! The plane itself is drawn heavily from what I recall from Planescape, but the Agents of Balance and the immortal congress are mine (for now!)

Re: Planar Travel...Original Ideas?
The plane of concordant opposition is the hub of the Great Cosmic Wheel, the grand planar crossroads wherein which all worlds meet. Portals to and denizens from nearly any plane can be found here, even those diametrically opposed to each other. This is possible in part due to the fact that as one ap...

Re: Moving Things Along
I throw in a two-minute sand timer when in combat and give timed breaks for big decisions. Real cliffhangers I try to plan for end of session so the issues get hashed out between games. I said "try", still get bogged down at my table, but it seems to help!

Downtime "event" tables for alt PCs and hirelings
One of my players has an extra character that he wants to have make some coin while the other adventures. This player has made a fairly intricate plan of how he wants to use the ship from Sailors on a Starless Sea and another one to run goods up and down a local river near the events of that module ...

DING! For my FIFTEENTH game we decided to tackle the Tower of the Black Pearl . My core PCs are on a quest to collect the thirteen Moons of Aereth, an a large mystically endowed black orb may be of that set, so... I've run the Pearl before, and we progressed a good way into it, but the first half of...

Re: Planar Travel...Original Ideas?
I've been on this very path since running Intrigue at the Court of Chaos . Opposed to the structured, well-defined wheel cosmology of other systems, I prefer a looser system more fitting DCC rules. I think of amorphous planes that differ by degrees, influenced inwardly by the will ruling powers and ...

HA! Ridiculous hi-jinks at the Court of Chaos ensued as the party defeating their stunt doubles in the egg chamber then moved on to the betrayal! This table's core group consists of mostly chaotic players, but neutral (good) newcomer contested with the self-titled "chaos rider" (an elf) fo...

My Thursday crew was expecting to ship out to the Tower of the Black Pearl when they got an invitation they couldn't refuse- and became embroiled in Intruige at the Court of Chaos ! Seriously one of the most fun modules I've ever ran, but you have to use the props for this one. I dug out some play-d...
