Re: Thief cast spell from scroll intelligence modifier?
My page 36 doesn't state that. Perhaps I have a newer edition?
Also -- the errata here states that theives do add their INT modifier.

Running Sailors of the Starless Sea for the first time...
Any tips?
Anything you changed in the adventure?
Pretty excited to be running DCC for the first time. Hope I don't screw it up...

Re: Advancement
It just seems weird to do it during the adventure.
All of a sudden, peasants have powers! Maybe I just need my first funnel to be a short one...

Re: Advancement
Question -- For example, Sailors of a Starless Sea -- it's kinda long for a funnel...especially with the new Summoning Pits/Area H in the new digest copy... How would you run this? Do you let the characters level before the end? The climax seems a little tough if all the PC's are still zero level. W...

Re: Handling patrons and stuff
But how do you handle patrons? Do you introduce the patrons you want -- "If you're interested in casting your Patron Bond spell, you have heard rumors of a lost temple of a frog god..." or Do you let the players thumb through the rules, pick a patron -- "I would like to take action to...

Re: Combat in the Funnel
Yes, I was thinking of something like that -- unless it's a tight dungeon corridor, etc.
I was just wondering how other judges handled it -- I didn't think there is usually space for 15 peasants to crowd around a humanoid creature and dog-pile it.

Combat in the Funnel
How do you handle combat with an army of 0-level peasants?
Do you limit the number of characters that can attack an adversary, or is it one big pile-on?
When monsters attack, how do you determine who gets attacked? Randomly determined among the front flank?

Handling patrons and stuff
Hello DCC friends -- Just a few question about patrons... 1. Do you let the players choose their patrons, or do you introduce the patrons you want? 2. I'm assuming that you roleplay all invoke patron/patron bond spells? Say, if a player survives the funnel, makes a wizard, rolls invoke patron/patron...

Advancement
Greetings DCC friends: Just a couple questions about level advancement: 1. I couldn't find it in the rules...do players receive XP during the adventure as they get it, or at the end of the adventure? For example -- during the funnel, what if they players receive enough XP to bump them to first level...

Darkness penalties?
Hi all -- I didn't see anything mentioned in the DCC rulebook. Am I missing it? For example: Peasant #1 and Peasant #2 are exploring a dungeon. Peasant #1 is carrying the torch. Ghouls attack! A ghoul attacks and kills Peasant #1 -- he drops the torch. It goes out! What penalties apply to Peasant #2...
