Basically what's happening is that everyone can make their own game now, so a 3E session often turns into a bunch of individuals running their own agendas instead of a team banding together, etc. etc., but that's just one fellow's opinion. That's where there needs to be more like tyrannical DMs lik...

I like everything about Castles & Crusades except the lack of a skills system. I'm hoping the Castle Keeper's guide offers a few options for that.

Re: old school crust and prestige classes

Hah! I couldn't agree more. 'Old-School Gaming' for me is just regular old gaming, but I have to remember that I'm sort of an old man too. I recall peeling off with glee the low-grade shrink wrap from the next Gygax doozy and the thing is, the joy of that isn't just a nostalgia thing now, I thought...

Self-contained, mostly. It's still covering all the lands, so no one city or village is going to be highly detailed. In that respect, having a DCC that happens to tie into such a locale will certainly help, but you won't find it vital. Plenty of room for you to develop on your own, too. Will I see ...

Hello again,

I have another question: will this setting assume that I have access to all of the DCC adventures?

Will I see references like, "for information on the village of carnelloe, please refer to DCC # x"?

Or is this setting self-contained?

My favs:

1) The World of Jaessar (my own creation, standard D&D)

2) HarnWorld (published by Columbia Games and usable with any game system)

3) Argyle (published by Silver Oak Studios)

4) Greyhawk

5) Toddland (D&D fantasy world created by my all time favorite DM, Todd Gest).

I've got the entire group ready and raring to go for some excellent d20 gaming ahead. I'll be using DCC #35 with only the three core books and perhaps some material from Unearthed Arcana. No slew of feats, no 101 prestige classes just oob D&D (and maybe a psionicist:) ). Later, Greg V. I plan t...

Did you create a new cosmology for this world or can I use the D&D Cosmology as presented in Core Rule Book II? Nope, no new cosmology. The whole setting is meant to be pretty adaptable. Everything in the core rulebooks still holds true here. It just has plenty of plot hooks and ideas. There ar...

I'm DMing a D&D v.3.5 campaign set in my homebrew, The World of Jaessar. Very, very generic D&D; Standard D&D all around. We only use the three core rule books. My player's characters just hit level 10. We play every Wednesday night, 6 PM to 10 PM. Tonight is game night in fact. If all g...

Old D&D Boxed Sets

Hello fellow gamers, I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought this forum was the best bet. I'm selling my old AD&D boxed sets on Amazon. Here's the links: Menzoberranzan (AD&D/Forgotten Realms) [BOX SET] (Hardcover): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FCCK2Y/104-3139000-5876720?n=283...

Thanks for the reply toper. Can you tell us what the scale is on the poster maps provided? Maybe how many miles to the inch? I'm hoping they aren't something like "100 miles to the inch", because that's too large for useable gameplay. Sure, you get a nice visual of the over-all world, but...

Toper,

Will there be regional, more detailed maps in the GM Guide? Not that the maps posted so far aren't detailed, they look lovely. I'm just curious if there will be "zoomed-in" maps of the regions or kingdoms, etc.

Hello guys, What, if any, plans for future development of the Known Lands do you guys have planned? Maybe area or kingdoms that could stand some furthur development or something beyond what's provided in the boxed-set. OR, do you plan to let future DDC adventures handle all of the continuous develop...

I love that cover. Don't really mind the price either. For campaign setting and two adventures, thats not bad at all. I agree. I take back any complaints I posted above. The hours of entertainment that this boxed set will provide would be much more expensive compared to other forms of entertainment...

You can add skills easily. Just graft the skills SRD onto the game. Also, in a appendix on Castle Zagyg Vol.I, is the idea of skill bundles. The Troll Lord's artist "gideon thorne" is a strong advocate of this skill bundles. Hey, I have the Castle Zagyg book and read the skills system Gar...

Great story so far. Keep 'em coming. So, how is Castles and Crusades? The only thing that I've seen that turns me off is the lack of multiclasing. Yeah, as he said, you can multiclass. The only thing that turned me off was the lack of a skills system. Otherwise, very cool. It really gets back to th...

I remember when you could buy a TSR module for $8.99 at Toys R Us. Am I dating myself? 8) The two modules included lessen the sting. That's like a $22 value or something. The Wilderlands went for the same price, but no adventures. Wonder how they are selling. I remember, when I was young, like 10 o...

Thanks. Hopefully it won't be quite that much. I mean, I know it costs money to make a product and everybody involved has to be compensated, but I can't afford/justify spending that much. I mean, I'd really like to check out Monte Cooks Ptawluss (or however you spell that city) campaign setting; but...
