So a few questions then for trying to understand the spell Does it apply through a through a melee weapon attack or only through touch? If it doesn't state it imparts energy then how it could impart energy through a melee weapon? It states that the creature the caster attacks takes additional damage...

so then it applies through an attack with a melee weapon?
