Thanks! I figure it would be something like that, i just wasn't sure what the mechanic was.

Re: Matching DCC-appropriate Dice Sets Possible!

Cool. I'll jump in on this. I have never actually participated in any kickstarter project (but I heard the expression a lot). How does that work? You pledge money and if enough pledges are made, the project goes through? How do you ensure that the pledgers actually go through with sending the money?...

Re: Idea for a DCC product

I've asked the spellcasting players at my table to print out a copy of their spells and bring it to the game, with their character sheets. Because there are two things that are time-consuming: looking up spells and, to a lesser degree, fumbles and crits. For the second we also printed quick referenc...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

Maledict closes his eyes, holds his nose between two gauntleted fingers, and thinks. It appears a difficult task for him. After a long moment, he finally speaks: "It seems like someone is telling us to bring the remains of this Morgil the Moon-Sage individual to the Well of All Wells, to revive...

Re: Revelation of Mulmo PbP?

Thanks to both of you. Sufferus has no one of his alignment in the party :) On another note, if I end up playing him as too much of a pain in the butt, do let me know. I presently imagine him as a rather unpleasant individual, I do not want that unpleasantness to seep into the gaming experience itse...

Re: Revelation of Mulmo PbP?

Hi, two questions: 1) for RC: Sufferus' whip has the following power: Finally, the cleric may attempt a Woeful Strike with the Scourge 3 times each day. However, each strike causes the cleric to take 1 point of Strength, Agility, or Stamina damage (roll randomly) as his pain fuels the Scourge. What ...

Sufferus stands before the bleeding Fred.

"Do you wish to atone for your sins before the Maimed One, and feel pain of the soul as he heals your puny flesh? If so, beg for his forgiveness towards your unworthyness."

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

10 feet of chain, 100' of rope, we can hold the rope slightly off the edge (2 feet), and sufferus can put his hands over his head (6 feet +)? Is that enough? If not, he piles up dirt for the missing two feet. And he jumps to catch the rope. If it's enough, once he has the rope, he twists it around h...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

Maledict mechanically repeats the words he hears as soon as he hears them. Do we have 120 feet of rope? I think we only have 100' that was used to get here. Can we use it again? Is it enough? Sufferus waits at the bottom of the tower. "Get me up, and quickly, you no-good sinners, so that your d...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

Maledict recuperates his sword, helps the cleric with directions (if needed) to help him join everyone, and lets others try to determine what happened here. This is no pool of water, after all, so this room is of little interest to him. Brother Sufferus makes his way to the top of the tower if he can.

Re: Mercurial Magic - Who uses it?

When I read that thread , I thought about this one and wondered if one could use those MM tables to help design unique magical items (instead of spells being cast). MM effects could be interesting side effects for magical items, don't you think so ? Very neat idea. I sometimes decide to create a ma...

If possible, Maledict dives from the flying Yoros just before the latter also drops on the beasts. (mighty deed attempt) He is hopeful that he will throw one beast to the ground as he drives his sword through it.

attack 1d20 (3) + deed roll 1d6 (4) + 4 = 11
dmg 1d10 (9) + deed roll (4) + 3 = 16

Re: What can an elf do to avoid corruption?

I've not yet had to act on this, but I think that I would not allow wizards to avoid corruption either. Corruption is fun :) I'm kind of leaning this way myself. Two sessions into the new campaign and the wizards/elves have yet to roll a 1. A point of luck seems to be a minor thing to burn to avoid...

I added a "bullseye" mechanic to Halflings, they get to roll the d20 twice and keep the highest when throwing darts, daggers and slings. Just to encourage them to not be double weapon warriors all the time. Very interesting idea. Another alternative would be to allow them to use a d24 whe...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

Ok, thanks for the clarification. The gist of my misunderstanding is that I thought that the rope extended along the tower wall, not from the second level to the tower. So I understand that, when following the upwardly-inclined rope, we in fact hang from the rope upside down, hands and feet on the r...

Re: multiple characters combineing for a skill check?

I agree that a rule for combining skill checks could have been considered. However, personally, I do not care for such. I'll ask players to roll their dice, if both get a high roll they succeed on a hard check. I guess I'm confused by this. Does this mean you just make a "gut" call about ...

Also, as part of the spellburn negotiation process, in order to emphasize that the replacement hand the wizard would get wouldn't be fully his own, I told him that the new hand wouldn't be a mortal hand. Consequently, the wizard player is planning experiments to test his new hand's susceptibility t...

To be honest, it's still at least partly unclear to me when/if my PCs can act and where everyone is. I understand the following. The tower is 120 feet tall, stands in the middle of the hollow hill that forms a dome with an outer peripheral wall having different levels dug therein with rooms made in ...

Re: Revelation of Mulmo PbP?

The tower is 120 feet high. The second level floor is about 30 feet from the ground where Sufferus stands. The rope being used at this moment goes from the 2nd level entrance to the top of the tower. Each of the five upper entrances is about 20-30 feet from the tower. Flowering vines act as curtain...

Re: Firearms

Perhaps simply a very high damage die (e.g. 1d30). Some would argue that a cannonball that hits you isn't going to do a mere 1 hp of damage. I'd counter that damage dealt doesn't have to come from the weapon. It can come from avoiding the weapon. But not everyone likes that stuff. I think that if y...

Re: Firearms

Thing to remember is guns aren't more deadly because of damage, necessarily (assuming you're not using dum-dums or a cannon). A slash from a sword can cause just as much damage if hitting the vitals, if not more due to the size of the wound, and can take a limb right off. No, the power of the gun i...
