Re: Death in DCC -- advice plea.

GnomeBoy gets me. <3 U MANNNNNN

I just meant that if your players are breaking the game, you have to remember that you're letting them. I don't have any problem telling my players "look, your interpretation of the rules is reasonable but it's broken and therefore I say no."

Portly Trim spends all his time learning as much as he can at the mosque. His spell knowledge manifests in the following ways. /ooc Since I'm a level 1 cleric I simply am rolling 1d11 four times on chart 5-9(page 128) Is that right? 10 - Second Sight (are you fing kidding me?!) 11 - Word of Command...

Re: Death in DCC -- advice plea.

I think "drain" is different from "loss" ... but I think the idea of just raising the check result is probably a wise one. I haven't had anybody get to that high of a level in my game (still not quite to 3rd yet) so it hasn't cropped up. But, to be fair, that's pretty high level ...

Much like spell use our artifact use attracts attention, why not the same for rampant luck use? I mean, haven't you seen that breakfast cereal commercial? "They're magically delicious!"

Re: Death in DCC -- advice plea.

I'd argue this is completely unlike 3.5/PF/4e because you have permanent stat loss each time. Heck, you lose a stamina point every time you GO DOWN, even if you're healed that round. (Make sure you're applying that rule, btw. It's a mean one, but I like it, and it makes combat suitably dange...

What about the other random books that Bypeld picked up? Just alchemical texts and the like. Nothing particularly interesting. Will you please quantify how much gold and silver Tonunt was able to grab? Uh, roll 3d4 for gp, 4d7 for sp. That's all. Which of the three guilds seems more Lawfully aligne...

Re: Death in DCC -- advice plea.

Yeah, why wouldn't you have let him burn Luck on the roll the body check? I allow that for all characters. Luck doesn't replenish very quickly, so it hasn't been an issue for us. And yeah that might mean that thieves/halflings end up hardly ever dying, but they'll slowly get gimped by physical stat ...

Re: The Secret of Bone Hill - L1 DCC conversion Play By Post

You can spend as many days in down time as you wish. Everybody earns, on average, 1 silver piece per day, so call it 7 silver pieces per week. This is just an average approximation. If you want to do something specific, it might be higher or lower (could be some Luck rolls involved). Didn't Chendris...

And one last thing: Hector, there's not many dwarves in Portsmouth. In fact, dwarves are generally persecuted and hated by humans. They tend to keep to themselves and be as unobtrusive as possible.

Finally, the party makes it back to Portsmouth. The body of Flavia is returned to her family, and the imam performs the burial rites with her family, and she is buried. Portly Trim feels at peace, and is welcomed by the imam to the mosque. Since he can no longer read, he spends most of his time sitt...

Shall we fast-forward to town, then? With each passing day, Chendris, the hike becomes more difficult, and a terrible pain develops in one leg, which seems to be withering slightly, shortening. Portly Trim will discuss Flavia's burial with Darrow and Cathbad. "Do we bury Flavia once free of this accursed place or would her family prefer to perform those rites themselves? I shall have no say in this as my burden upon this band of adventurers is great." He knows that the religious...

The battered and bruised party gazes about at the now fully crumbled ruins, dazed. Chendris gags a little bit, then flexes his jaw and feels a tooth pop out. He quickly tries to hide it, wiping at the blood coming from his mouth, his eyes a little wild, and wide, with some inner terror. Portly Trim,...

(As an aside, before anybody says "WTF? That was just Patron BOND, not INVOKE Patron..." Fear no rule! It fit with the narrative. This particular Patron is very powerful, of course. And because of the location, it was very likely to be "listening" in on what was going on. Because...
